The new Taylor Sheridan drama series The Madison is set to premiere globally on Paramount+ on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The show features an all-star cast led by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell and tells an intimate family story set across Montana and New York City. The first season will be six episodes, marking a shorter format for a Sheridan series.

Release Date and Streaming Info

Paramount+ will release the entire first season of The Madison on March 14, 2026. Viewers around the world can watch the show on the streaming service on that date.

In a unique move, the show was already renewed for a second season before its premiere. Reports indicate filming for the second season wrapped in December 2025. The first season is described as a six-episode story. This is a shorter format compared to other Taylor Sheridan shows, which often run for eight or ten episodes per season.

The series will be available in the United States on Paramount+. For viewers in Europe, the show will stream on SkyShowtime.

Main Cast and Character Details

The series centers on the Clyburn family, a wealthy New York City family processing a major life event in Montana.

  • Michelle Pfeiffer plays Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch of the family. Pfeiffer is also an executive producer on the series.
  • Kurt Russell stars as Preston Clyburn, Stacy’s husband and the family patriarch. Some reports suggest his character may appear primarily in flashbacks.
  • Matthew Fox plays Paul Clyburn, described as a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors.
  • Elle Chapman and Patrick J. Adams play the married couple Paige and Russell McIntosh. Paige is the younger Clyburn daughter, and Russell is an investment banker.
  • Beau Garrett stars as Abigail Reese, the older Clyburn daughter, a recently divorced mother of two. Her daughters are played by Amiah Miller (Bridgett) and Alaina Pollack (Macy).

The supporting cast includes local Montana characters who interact with the family. Kevin Zegers plays Cade Harris, a neighbor who watches over the Clyburn property. Danielle Vasinova plays his wife, Kestrel Harris. Ben Schnetzer appears as a rancher named Van Davis, and Rebecca Spence plays Liliana, a friend of Stacy’s from New York.

Story and Connection to Yellowstone

The Madison is the fifth television series in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone franchise. It is a new story within that world, not a direct sequel focusing on characters from the original Yellowstone series.

The official description from Paramount+ calls it a “profound love story channeled through a deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation.”. The story is said to be a study of grief and human connection.

“The Madison is Sheridanโ€™s most intimate work to date, unfolding across two distinct worlds โ€” the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan โ€” as it examines the ties that bind families together,” stated Paramount+ in the show’s announcement.

The plot follows the Clyburn family as they leave New York City for the Madison River valley in central Montana. The show will move between these two settings, contrasting urban life with the rural West.

Production Background

The series was officially announced in August 2024, with Michelle Pfeiffer’s casting confirmed at that time. Kurt Russell joined the cast in September 2025. The show is a major production for the new Paramount Television Studios, which took over the project after a corporate merger.

Filming for the first season took place in Montana from September to October 2024. Scenes set in New York City were filmed in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, in November and December 2024. The production utilized a new, large studio campus in Fort Worth.

The series is created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan. The directing is led by Christina Alexandra Voros, a longtime Sheridan collaborator who also serves as an executive producer. Other executive producers include David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, and the stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.
