The official date for the third season of the popular Netflix series The Night Agent is finally here. Fans of the spy thriller can mark their calendars for February 19, 2026, when all new episodes will arrive on the streaming service. Alongside the date, Netflix released a first teaser and new photos, confirming a major cast shake-up and revealing that Peter Sutherlandโs next mission will take him across the globe.

The new season picks up with Peter, played by Gabriel Basso, on a dangerous assignment that starts in Istanbul. The story follows him as he tracks down a young Treasury agent who has fled with critical government information. This investigation pulls Peter into a conspiracy involving a network of illegal money and puts him face-to-face with a determined journalist. The season will explore the personal cost of Peter’s work, showing how his role as a Night Agent has changed him.
The New Mission and International Settings
The plot for Season 3 sends Peter Sutherland far from Washington, D.C. The core of the new story involves Peter being called to find a Treasury agent. This agent, played by Suraj Sharma, has run to Istanbul after a serious incident with his boss and has taken sensitive intelligence with him. This search is just the beginning, leading Peter into a larger investigation of a “dark money network” and its team of killers.
Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan has promised a story with a wider scope. He said the new season will be a “thrill ride” across several international locations, including Istanbul, Mexico City, and the Dominican Republic. The recently released teaser gives a glimpse of this, showing Peter navigating a packed soccer stadium in Istanbul, likely in pursuit of his target. Ryan also noted that this season will focus on Peter dealing with “hard truths” and the personal price he has paid for his dangerous job.
A Changed Cast and New Faces
One of the biggest changes for this season is the cast. Luciane Buchanan, who played Peter’s partner Rose Larkin for the first two seasons, will not be returning as a series regular. While the possibility of a future appearance remains, her departure marks a significant shift for the series.
Stepping into a central role is Genesis Rodriguez, who plays Isabel, a relentless journalist. Descriptions suggest her character will team up with Peter to expose secrets, filling a narrative role similar to Rose’s. The season also introduces several other new key characters. Stephen Moyer joins as a top hitman known only as “The Father,” and David Lyons plays Adam, a former spy pulled back into action. Jennifer Morrison will appear as the First Lady of the United States.
They are joined by promoted cast members from previous seasons. Fola Evans-Akingbola (Chelsea Arrington), Albert Jones (Deputy Director Aiden Mosely), and Ward Horton (President Richard Hagan) have all been elevated to series regulars. Amanda Warren will also return as Peter’s handler, Catherine Weaver, but in a recurring rather than regular role.

Behind the Scenes and the Road to Season 3
The production of Season 3 moved quickly compared to past seasons. While there was a 22-month gap between Seasons 1 and 2, the wait for Season 3 will be just over a year. Filming took place in New York State and included an international shoot in Istanbul, Turkey.
The series continues to be led by creator Shawn Ryan, who serves as showrunner and executive producer. The directing team for the season’s ten episodes includes Guy Ferland, Adam Arkin, and Paris Barclay. Netflix has shown strong confidence in the show, renewing it for this third season ahead of the Season 2 premiere in 2025. Reports also indicate that early work on a potential fourth season has already begun.
The show’s first season was a major success for Netflix, becoming one of its most-watched new series ever and reaching the number one spot in 87 countries. The upcoming season aims to capture that same energy with higher stakes and a fresh dynamic for its lead character.
โSeason 3 of The Night Agent takes our audience on an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride across Istanbul, Mexico City, Washington, D.C., New York and the Dominican Republic as Peter grapples with a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of the White House,โ said showrunner Shawn Ryan.
