The upcoming fantasy action movie Omniscient Reader: The Prophet has released its official trailer and posters, confirming a July 23, 2025 release date. The film features a star-studded cast including Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo.
The story follows Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), an ordinary office worker who finds himself trapped inside the world of his favorite web novel. He teams up with the novel’s protagonist, Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho), to survive deadly scenarios threatening to destroy reality.
The newly released posters show the main cast staring at a mysterious scenario window with the tagline, “The novel only I know has become reality.” The trailer begins with Kim Dok Jaโs voiceover: “The story that was my everything has become reality.” Chaos erupts when a goblin named Bihyung appears on a subway, forcing passengers into a brutal survival game.

Fans of the original webtoon have mixed reactions to the live-action adaptation. Some criticize changes to character designs, particularly Jisooโs role as Lee Ji Hye and Bihyungโs appearance.
“Lee Jihye isnโt even a main character to begin with so all these changes make no sense unless it’s just because Jisoo plays her.”
“They turned my goat into a labubu. What happened to Bihyung?”
The film also stars Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, Nana, and Kwon Eun Seong. With a reported budget of 300 billion KRW, it is one of South Koreaโs most expensive productions.
