About the Movie and Cast
Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy is an action fantasy film adapted from the bestselling Korean web novel Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. The story follows Kim Dok-ja, an ordinary office worker who is the only reader of a web novel called Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. When the novel’s apocalyptic events suddenly become reality, he uses his unique knowledge of the story to try and change its deadly ending.
The movie features a popular ensemble cast, led by Ahn Hyo-seop as Kim Dok-ja and Lee Min-ho as the novel’s powerful hero, Yoo Joong-hyuk. Other main cast members include Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Nana, and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo.
In interviews, Lee Min-ho talked about the unique challenge of his role. He described his character’s world as “lonely and desolate” and noted that his main focus was to help the audience connect with Ahn Hyo-seop’s character first.
“The audience has to buy into him first. Only then does Yoo Joong-hyuk’s presence start to make sense,” Lee Min-ho said.
