A fake screenshot of a comment from Zayn Malik on BLACKPINK member Jisoo’s Instagram post spread quickly across social media, creating a wave of excitement and confusion. The fabricated comment was shared on a fan account and led many to believe the two singers, who recently released a duet, were interacting personally online. However, the image was completely fake, and Zayn never left the comment.
What the Fake Comment Showed
The rumor started with a post on X from one of Jisoo’s fan accounts. This post included a manufactured screenshot from Jisoo’s official Instagram account. In the real Instagram post, Jisoo had shared pictures of a “turtle-rabbit” sculpture she made.
The fake screenshot added a comment that was never there. It supposedly showed Zayn Malik writing, “Can I be turtle rabbit zayn? (turtle emoji) (rabbit emoji)” While Jisoo’s Instagram post showing her sculpture was authentic, the part showing Zayn’s comment was a digital creation designed to go viral.
How the Rumor Was Debunked
Fact-checking confirmed that Zayn Malik did not comment on Jisoo’s sculpture post. The viral story was based on a single, fabricated image. This rumor gained traction primarily because of the timing, coming right after the two artists released their successful collaboration.
Zayn and Jisoo worked together on the single “Eyes Closed,” which came out on October 10, 2025. The song is a mood-driven R&B ballad that shows how well their vocal styles fit together. The music video has a futuristic theme, with the two artists shown floating in a spacecraft before meeting in orbit.
A History of Playful Misunderstandings
This is not the first time an online interaction between Zayn and Jisoo has sparked wild fan theories. After the release of “Eyes Closed,” Zayn posted behind-the-scenes photos on his own Instagram on October 14. His caption expressed gratitude to Jisoo, saying:
“@sooyaaa__ Jisooo.. you’re an absolute legend, loved every part of this collaboration, thank you for making me the coolest dad around.”
Jisoo replied to his post in the comments, writing, “You already are.” This friendly exchange was a clear reference to Zayn’s role as a father to his daughter, Khai. However, some fans humorously misinterpreted the phrasing, with one joking it “sounds like a pregnancy announcement.” Others commented that to an outsider, it might seem like they were announcing they had a child together. This previous event shows how easily casual, friendly exchanges between the two can be misread online.
The Real Story Behind Their Collaboration
The professional relationship between Zayn and Jisoo is well-documented. Their duet, “Eyes Closed,” was officially released in October 2025 and marked a significant milestone for both artists. For Jisoo, it was her first international collaboration outside of BLACKPINK. For Zayn, it was his first time working with a K-pop artist.
The collaboration began after Zayn attended a BLACKPINK concert in New York in July 2025 with his daughter. Jisoo had shared her excitement about the project on social media, posting that a “very special song” they had been working on for a long time was finally coming out. She also expressed her gratitude for the experience, saying:
“Working with you has truly been something special. I’m so thankful for your kindness and amazing voice.”
Jisoo is currently busy with BLACKPINK’s ongoing “DEADLINE” world tour. Zayn is focused on his solo music and spending time with his daughter.
