100 Days of Deception delivered its most emotionally charged episode yet on October 25, 2026, and the numbers reflected it. Episode 6 killed off a major character, pushed Lee Ga-gyeong and Sato Hideo closer than ever, and lifted the drama to its highest viewership since its premiere. Kim You-jung‘s breakdown in the final scene became the episode’s defining moment, and the fallout from Geum Seok-jung‘s death leaves the resistance group and Ga-gyeong’s cover identity in serious danger. Episode 7 arrives on October 31, 2026, with the investigation into the Geum surname already underway.
What Happened Before Episode 6
Episode 5 ended with Lee Ga-gyeong (Kim You-jung) deciding to quit her undercover work. The interrogation of Geum Seok-jung (Gam Woo-sung) and the threats from police chief Fukuda (Kim Joong-hee) broke her resolve. She packed her things and left the resistance house, but Yoo Philip (Lee Moo-saeng) approached her with a gun hidden behind his back. The episode closed on that cliffhanger, with Ga-gyeong’s future as a spy hanging by a thread.
Philip’s Gun and So-ran’s Decision
Episode 6 opened with Yoo Philip confronting Ga-gyeong outside. He was ready to kill her, convinced the group could not risk a traitor in their ranks. Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo) stepped in and stopped him. She argued that Ga-gyeong had no intention of betraying them and that the group needed to bring her back, not bury her.
So-ran convinced Philip by telling him about their daughter, Seo-hee, who was killed by Sato Shinichi thirteen years earlier. Philip relayed that story to Ga-gyeong and explained that So-ran believed in her. Ga-gyeong returned to the house with a new condition: she would finish the mission within one month if So-ran arranged her passage to America afterward.
So-ran agreed, though the show has already hinted that she may not be able to keep that promise.
Two Missions, One Dangerous Game
Both sides handed their operatives the same assignment. Sato Shinichi (Jin Sun-kyu) ordered Hideo to win Ga-gyeong’s trust and find out what she might be passing to Philip. So-ran ordered Ga-gyeong to win Hideo’s heart without letting personal feelings get in the way.
The mirrored missions turned every scene between the two leads into a quiet battle of lies and half-truths. Neither character knows the other is working an angle, and neither can afford to drop their guard.
The Pneumatic Tube Project and a Suspicious Construction Site
Ga-gyeong searched Hideo’s desk while he was away and found documents about the Pneumatic Tube Project. The project connects to the construction happening inside the Japanese Government-General building.
A French businessman named Mr Laurent arrived by train and berated the Joseon labourers working on the site. Hideo translated for him and saw the workers being pushed to their limits: 14-hour shifts with no day off in three months. Shinichi agreed to cut their hours by one every other day, then privately ordered Hideo to add an extra hour daily once Laurent left.
Ga-gyeong’s Risky Move Inside the Interrogation Room
Fukuda summoned Ga-gyeong to interpret for Geum Seok-jung‘s interrogation, with Hideo also in the room. Seok-jung had asked for “Geum Seo-hee” specifically, which made the room tense. He stayed silent until Ga-gyeong volunteered to speak to him in Korean.
She reminded him of their first meeting, when she worked as a live-in maid and he arrived as a deliveryman. Without naming So-ran, she let him know she was on the resistance side. Seok-jung responded by telling her to “buy a castella on your way” — a message whose meaning the show left hanging.
The Confession That Broke the Case Open
Na Byeong-soon (Gil Eun-sung) confessed everything after officers tortured his wife and broke her leg. His confession revealed Seok-jung’s real name and the fact that the men originally came from Kyeam-ri. Fukuda rushed to tell Shinichi, and the Inspector General ordered a review of Seok-jung’s family records from 13 years ago.
That order put Ga-gyeong’s borrowed name directly in Shinichi’s path. The Geum surname is rare, and Shinichi murmured “Geum Seo-hee” as the connection clicked into place.
Seok-jung’s Final Stand and Death
Shinichi visited Seok-jung’s cell and came face-to-face with him for the first time in thirteen years. Seok-jung called him by his former name, Ishikawa Nobuyuki, and accused him of burning down their village and killing his family and friends.
“Mass murderer. You killed my family, friends, and villagers and burned them.” — Geum Seok-jung
Shinichi showed no remorse. Two gunshots rang out nearby as Byeong-soon and his wife were executed. A third shot followed, and Geum Seok-jung was killed. Hideo tried to stop Ga-gyeong from running to the cell, but she reached it in time to see Shinichi leaving and Seok-jung’s body on the blood-soaked floor.
Fukuda claimed Seok-jung died of sepsis from a gunshot wound. Ga-gyeong left the room holding back fear and rage.

Ga-gyeong’s First Honest Answer
Hideo followed Ga-gyeong out, held her trembling hand, and rode with her in a rickshaw to her door. She stood alone, rehearsing how to tell So-ran that her husband was dead. When she turned back, Hideo was still there in the rain.
“Ms. Geum Seo-hee, are you okay?” — Sato Hideo
She tried to lie again, then stopped herself.
“No, I’m not okay.” — Lee Ga-gyeong
Hideo held her without saying a word. It was the first time Ga-gyeong dropped her guard in front of him, and the moment landed hard with viewers.
The Ratings Jump
Episode 6 recorded a nationwide average of 9.5% and a peak of 10.4% , according to Nielsen Korea. In the Seoul metropolitan area, it averaged 9.9% with a peak of 10.7%. The episode ranked first in its time slot across all channels, including terrestrial broadcasters, and topped the 20-49 age group that tvN targets.
Episode 5 had dropped to 6.5% nationwide, so the jump of 3.0 percentage points marked a sharp recovery and a new series high.
Character Story Progression
Lee Ga-gyeong returned to the mission reluctantly, then witnessed the death of a man she had just promised to help. Her final admission to Hideo marked the first crack in the wall of lies she has built around herself.
Sato Hideo / Kim Tae-woong followed Shinichi’s orders to get close to Ga-gyeong, but his concern for her looked genuine. His refusal to leave her alone after the death suggests his mission and his feelings are starting to merge.
Yoo So-ran chose persuasion over execution and kept Ga-gyeong in the fold. She also accepted that her husband might not survive the mission, a decision that cost her dearly by the episode’s end.
Yoo Philip lowered his gun and told Ga-gyeong the truth about So-ran’s daughter. His role shifted from enforcer to reluctant ally.
Geum Seok-jung died without completing his revenge. His final words to Ga-gyeong hinted at something more than a pastry order, and Shinichi’s suspicion of the Geum name suggests the message will matter.
Sato Shinichi killed Seok-jung personally and then set his sights on the Geum family records. His investigation now threatens to expose Ga-gyeong’s false identity.
Fukuda broke the case open through Byeong-soon’s confession and lied about how Seok-jung died.
Na Byeong-soon gave up Seok-jung’s identity to save his wife, and both were executed anyway.
What to Expect from Episode 7
Episode 7 airs on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN. Netflix releases it worldwide the same day, with the episode expected around 5:40 p.m. IST in India, 8:10 a.m. ET in the USA, 1:10 p.m. BST in the UK, and 10:10 p.m. AEST in Australia.
Fukuda is already examining old family photographs and records. Shinichi’s suspicion of the Geum surname puts Ga-gyeong’s cover on a countdown. The resistance is weaker after losing Seok-jung and Byeong-soon, and Ga-gyeong now has one month to finish the mission before So-ran’s promise comes due.
