The Dhurandhar film series has done something no other Indian movie franchise has done before. The two movies starring Ranveer Singh have together earned more than ₹3000 crore at the global box office. This makes it the first Indian film franchise to reach this massive number.
The numbers keep growing every day. Dhurandhar (released in December 2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (released in March 2026) have collected over ₹3020 crore worldwide as of April 2026. The second part is still running in many theatres, so the total will go even higher.
Dhurandhar Breaks Records Set by Baahubali and Pushpa Franchises
For many years, the Baahubali series held the top spot for Indian film franchises. SS Rajamouli directed both parts. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) earned ₹650 crore worldwide. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) collected ₹1788 crore. The total came to ₹2438 crore.
The Pushpa franchise came next. Allu Arjun starred in both films. Pushpa: The Rise (2021) released during COVID-19 and earned ₹350 crore. Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) did much better with ₹1742 crore. The combined total reached ₹2092 crore.
The Dhurandhar franchise has crossed both these numbers by a big margin. The two films together have earned over ₹600 crore more than Baahubali and nearly ₹1000 crore more than Pushpa.
How Both Dhurandhar Films Performed at the Box Office
The first film Dhurandhar released on December 5, 2025. It collected ₹1307.35 crore worldwide. The movie earned ₹840.20 crore net in India and ₹299.50 crore from overseas markets. This was a huge success. The film was only released in Hindi. It also faced bans in Gulf countries and Pakistan.
The sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge arrived on March 19, 2026. It did even bigger business. The film has collected ₹1712 crore worldwide so far. In India, it earned ₹1083.65 crore net. This made it the first Hindi film to cross ₹1000 crore net in the domestic market. Overseas markets added ₹414.50 crore to the total.
The sequel broke many records in its opening week. It became the fastest Hindi film to cross ₹1000 crore worldwide. It also set new records for the highest-grossing Hindi film in overseas markets.
Why These Numbers Matter for Indian Cinema
The Dhurandhar franchise has achieved something unique. Both films have individually crossed the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide. No other Indian franchise has two films in the ₹1000 crore club.
Aditya Dhar directed both movies. He previously made Uri: The Surgical Strike. The production banners included Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar produced the films along with Aditya Dhar.
The story follows Ranveer Singh playing Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. He plays an Indian spy who goes to Pakistan to bring down gangsters and terror networks. The cast also includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and others.
The first film had a slow start but grew through good word-of-mouth. It earned more in its second week than its first week. The sequel had a massive opening because people already loved the first film.
Comparison with Other Big Indian Film Franchises
Here is how the numbers compare between the top Indian film franchises:
