The elaborate advertising campaign for Drake‘s upcoming ninth studio album has turned into a city-wide event in Toronto. The rapper placed large ice blocks in downtown Toronto, hiding the album’s release date inside. This led to fans using sledgehammers and blow torches to get the information. The successful treasure hunt ended with a streamer finding the date, May 15, 2026, along with a booklet containing strange photos of Sexyy Red and Pinocchio.

A Streamer Cracks the Code and Wins a Cash Prize

Twitch streamer Kishka became the main person of this event. He climbed the large ice structure outside the Bond Place Hotel and pulled out a blue waterproof bag marked with the words “freeze the world.” After he found it, Adin Ross called him and told him to take the bag directly to Drake’s mansion, called “The Embassy.”

When Kishka arrived at the driveway of Drake’s house, he opened the carefully wrapped package. Inside was a booklet that confirmed the ICEMAN album release date is May 15, 2026. Along with the booklet, Kishka found stacks of cash.

“I don’t even know how much this is, bro! Am I dreaming?”

Kishka shouted this to Drake, who watched from his window. Drake later made the date official with a simple post on his Instagram account.

Police Step In as Fan Activity Gets Dangerous

The excitement around the Drake ICEMAN ice blocks quickly created safety problems. The structure stood about 25 feet tall in a parking lot. Fans arrived with pickaxes and sledgehammers to break the ice. Some even tried to speed up the melting by using blow torches or setting up a campfire on top of the ice.

This risky behavior forced the Toronto Police Service to step in. Officers closed off the area with metal barriers after large pieces of ice started falling onto the crowd below.

Police spokesperson Laura Brabant explained the danger:

“Large pieces of ice began falling, creating a dangerous situation for people on the ground, as well as those who climbed the structure.”

Officers stayed at the location to manage the crowds. There were no reports of injuries, but the police confirmed that people were breaking off chunks with various tools.

The Strange Booklet Details: Sexyy Red and Pinocchio

The booklet that Kishka pulled from the ice gave fans more than just a date. It worked like a small magazine, containing several interesting images that are sparking theories online. One page clearly showed a photo of rapper Sexyy Red, suggesting she is involved with the project as a collaborator.

Another page featured a picture of Pinocchio in the center of a crosshair. This continues a visual theme Drake has used before. During earlier livestreams promoting the album, a person dressed as Pinocchio was seen following Drake around. Many fans believe this character represents Kendrick Lamar. The connection comes from the idea that Pinocchio’s nose grows when he tells lies, pointing to the accusations made during the public dispute between the two rappers.

The booklet also contained a clear message about Drake’s mindset for the year. It stated:

“2026 will be my year.”

This line shows up on some of the new ICEMAN merchandise. Fans noticed that the merch design has “2024” crossed out, replacing it with “2026.”

Explosions and Icy Basketball Seats: The Full Rollout

The ice blocks were not the only part of the promotion for ICEMAN. Days before the ice appeared, residents near Downsview Park in Toronto heard a loud explosion. The blast was so strong it rattled nearby buildings and caused flames to shoot up. Reports later confirmed the explosion was part of a music video shoot for Drake’s song “Project Bot.”

Earlier in April, the Toronto Raptors joined the promotion. During a game at Scotiabank Arena, the team sealed Drake’s usual courtside seats in sculpted ice. The Raptors shared a picture of the icy seats on social media on April 14, 2026. Drake liked the post and shared it on his own account.

This marks Drake’s first solo album since his public legal dispute with Kendrick Lamar reached its peak in 2024. It is the follow-up to his collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, which came out earlier this year.

What to Expect from the Album Tracklist

While the ICEMAN release date is now confirmed, Drake has kept the full list of songs a secret. However, fans already have a good idea of who might be on the album. Through promotional livestreams that started last summer, Drake has played a few unreleased tracks.

These previews included the song “What Did I Miss,” another track called “Which One” featuring UK rapper Central Cee, and “DOG HOUSE” which includes Yeat and Julia Wolf.

Media personality Mal, who is known to be close to Drake’s OVO team, recently spoke about the album. He told listeners that the music on ICEMAN is some of the best rapping Drake has ever done. Mal also claimed the project will make it “crystal clear who the top dog is,” hinting that the album addresses the rivalry with Kendrick Lamar directly.

ICEMAN will be available to stream on all major platforms starting May 15, 2026.
