The wait for more adventures of the USS Enterprise finally has an end date. Paramount+ has set the official return for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, and the first teaser trailer is already giving fans a look at what is coming.
The announcement happened at CCXP Mexico on April 25, 2026. Cast members Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Paul Wesley took the stage to share the big news with a room full of excited fans. The fourth season will start streaming on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Like previous seasons, this one will have ten episodes, with new episodes arriving every Thursday.
The teaser trailer shows the crew heading into very different kinds of danger. One quick shot appears to show the Enterprise visiting a planet with dinosaurs. Rebecca Romijn, who plays Number One, confirmed this on stage, simply saying, โThereโs dinosaurs!โ
Spock Gets A New Look And Kirk Returns For A Tight Hug
The teaser trailer gives fans a lot of small details to notice. Ethan Peck’s Spock has a slightly updated hairstyle that looks much closer to the classic look Leonard Nimoy made famous in the original series.
The friendship between Kirk and Spock is also a big part of the new footage. One moment shows Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk giving Spock a very strong hug. It is a fun and quick look at how their relationship is growing after the events of last seasonโs finale.
The trailer also includes some scary moments. Christina Chong’s character, LaโAn Noonien-Singh, is walking through a crashed spaceship when a pale hand reaches out and touches her shoulder from behind. It suggests that at least one episode will lean into horror.
Paul Wesley teased that the new season will explore more of Kirkโs past. He told the crowd at CCXP Mexico, โWe explore a little about Kirkโs past and the demons that are haunting him.โ
Captain Pike And Number One Return To The Field
The teaser trailer also shows Anson Mount’s Captain Pike and Rebecca Romijnโs Una Chin-Riley fighting side by side in a phaser battle. It has been a while since audiences saw the command duo on an away mission together. This reunion is a treat for fans who enjoy seeing the two leaders working directly in the field.
Celia Rose Gooding also talked about how her character, Nyota Uhura, is changing. She continues to move closer to the version of Uhura that Nichelle Nichols played in the 1960s. Gooding shared, โShe talks back. She stands up for herself. I think weโre getting closer and closer to Nichelle Nicholsโ Uhura.โ
The official description for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 says the crew will battle inner demons and outside threats. They will also meet new characters, see familiar faces, and face terrifying aliens.
Paul Wesley also thanked William Shatner during the presentation. Shatner had previously given his blessing for Wesley to play the younger Kirk. Wesley called it a โlovely, beautiful passing of the batonโ and said Shatner did not have to do that.
