In a recent episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, Shannen Doherty, renowned for her role in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has shared a heartening breakthrough in her ongoing battle with stage 4 breast cancer, labeling it a “miracle.”
The 52-year-old actress expressed newfound hope for the future, attributing the positive turn to a recent treatment. Doherty revealed that after undergoing six or seven sessions of a new cancer infusion, she observed a significant breakthrough in breaking down the blood-brain barrier.
In her conversation with radiation oncologist Dr. Amin Mirhadi, Doherty described her body’s response to the treatment as a “miracle,” emphasizing her decision to persist with the therapy despite initial doubts.
The actress refrained from disclosing specific details about the treatment but emphasized her gratitude for the positive outcome. She acknowledged the potential divine intervention, stating, “Sometimes you’re looking for miracles in all the wrong places, and they’re right in front of your face.”
Doherty, initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, experienced a recurrence of the disease as stage 4 in 2019. Last year, she revealed that the cancer had metastasized, affecting her brain and bones.
Despite the challenges, Doherty maintains a resilient spirit, expressing her desire to continue living, loving, and creating positive change. She openly shared her perspective on death, stating, “I don’t want to die, I just don’t want to die, like, ever.”
The actress also addressed personal struggles, revealing that she discovered her husband’s alleged affair just before undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor in 2021. Doherty’s determination to persevere through these hardships reflects her unwavering commitment to life.
