Emma Corrin has a surprising idea for bringing their Deadpool & Wolverine villain back to life. The actor recently shared a funny pitch for Cassandra Nova’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it does not involve world domination or multiverse collapsing schemes.
Instead, Corrin wants a comedy movie about sibling bonding.
The Emmy-nominated actor, who played the powerful and scary telepath in the 2024 blockbuster, said they are 100% ready to reprise the role. The only catch is that the story needs to take a sharp turn into comedy.
Corrin Pitches a Sibling Comedy Movie
During a recent interview with Variety to talk about their upcoming movie Pride & Prejudice, Corrin was asked if they would ever want to play Cassandra Nova again. Their answer was quick and clear.
“I absolutely would, 100%. I think her story’s not over. I would like to see a Professor X and Cassandra Nova bonding film — a sibling comedy like ‘Step Brothers.’ Make it happen! Internet, do your thing!”
Corrin compared the idea to the 2008 comedy Step Brothers starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. That movie follows two grown men who act like immature children while living together. Applying that same idea to two of the most powerful psychic mutants in the Marvel universe would be a very unusual and funny change of pace.
The actor, who received an Emmy nomination for playing Princess Diana in The Crown, seems to genuinely believe there is more story to tell. Even though Cassandra Nova appears to die at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, Corrin does not see that as a real problem.
A Very Different Kind of MCU Return
The idea of bringing a dead villain back for a comedy might sound strange. But Corrin’s time on the Deadpool & Wolverine set was already a very positive and playful experience.
The actor spoke highly of working with Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy. They said the team made the massive production feel small and safe.
“They did so much to make me feel like I was stepping into something that wasn’t daunting at all but was just like a playground. And it really felt like that,” Corrin said.
Corrin also admitted the whole experience was overwhelming at times.
“I felt like I was at some kind of theme park all the time because things were just so overwhelming, and I was like, ‘This cannot be real. I must be walking around with a visitor’s pass. Like, I can’t belong here,’” they recalled.
For their performance, Corrin shaved their head to play the bald villain. Director Shawn Levy had to actually tell Corrin to pull back the performance. The actor wanted to go bigger and weirder, but Levy wanted a more controlled and quiet version of the character.

Could This Actually Happen?
As of June 2026, Marvel Studios has not announced any official plans to bring Cassandra Nova back. There are no ongoing discussions or rumors about a Professor X and Cassandra Nova spin-off movie.
However, death is rarely permanent in the MCU, especially with the multiverse now in play. Cassandra Nova has a very deep history in the Marvel comics. In the comics, she is the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men. She has tried to destroy him and take over his body many times.
Patrick Stewart is confirmed to return as a version of Professor X in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. That movie is scheduled to release in 2026. This means a version of Charles Xavier will be back in the MCU very soon, which could open the door for his sister to join him.
Corrin is staying busy with other major projects. The actor stars as Elizabeth Bennet in a new six-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice for Netflix. The series also stars Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy and Olivia Colman. A release date for the series has not been announced yet.
The box office success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which earned more than $1.3 billion globally, also gives Marvel a good reason to keep working with its cast members. Fans on social media have started reacting positively to Corrin’s pitch, with many saying they would watch a comedy featuring the two powerful siblings.
