PSYЯEN Episode 1 Preview: Ageha Yoshina and the Red Phone Card

The premiere episode, titled “Urban Legend,” introduces Ageha Yoshina, a first-year high school student at Shirataki High School. Ageha runs a one-man service business, solving people’s problems for ¥10,000 per job. On the surface, he appears to be a typical delinquent, but the episode reveals a deeper truth: Ageha is an inwardly empty young man who is searching for a reason to fight.

His life takes a sharp turn when he discovers a mysterious red telephone card left inside a public phone booth. The same card was in the possession of his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya.

Sakurako Amamiya’s Disappearance and the Psyren Urban Legend

Sakurako Amamiya was once a bright and popular girl. Over the years, she grew cold and distant, earning the nickname “Ice Queen” among her classmates. After leaving Ageha with the words “Help me…” , she vanishes without a trace.

Determined to find her, Ageha investigates the card and stumbles upon an urban legend: a secret society called Psyren and its messenger, the monster Nemesis Q, are said to lead people to paradise. Ageha initially laughs off the rumor, but his skepticism is short-lived. Mysterious attackers appear, targeting the card, and when Ageha is cornered and answers a ringing telephone, he is transported to a strange, desolate wasteland.

I hope the song will be loved for as long as PSYREN -Siren- itself.”

Episode Count and Adaptation Plans
