Prime Video has released the first teaser for Drawn Together, the movie adaptation of Mercedes Ron’s popular novel Marfil. The film arrives on the streaming platform on September 9, 2026. This Spanish Original movie is the first part of the Enfrentados duology and brings a story of love and danger to the screen.
The teaser gives viewers a look at the main characters and their difficult situation. Ester Expósito plays Marfil Cortés, and Hugo Diego García plays Sebastian Moore. The 18-second clip shows Marfil’s father introducing Sebastian as her new bodyguard after she survives a kidnapping. One scene shows Sebastian teaching Marfil how to use a weapon, preparing her for the threats ahead. Another scene shows sparks flying between them as they step into an elevator.
What Drawn Together Is About
Marfil Cortés is the daughter of a Spanish business tycoon. Her perfect life in New York falls apart when she gets kidnapped and then mysteriously released. Her father hires Sebastian Moore as her personal bodyguard for protection.
The story follows two people with very different personalities. Marfil has a fierce independent spirit, while Sebastian stays reserved and professional. They find themselves pulled toward each other despite their clashing natures. The danger around them grows as they return to Spain, where new threats appear and secrets come out.
The movie blends romance with suspense. Marfil and Sebastian must learn to trust each other in a world where nothing is what it seems. The official press release from Prime Video says the story explores how their carefully built walls start to break down as they face dangerous situations together.
The Cast and Crew Behind the Film
Ester Expósito, known for her work in Élite and Venus, takes on the lead role of Marfil Cortés. Hugo Diego García, who appeared in The Substance, plays Sebastian Moore.
The supporting cast includes several well-known actors:
- Eric Masip (Through My Window) as Iván
- Pablo Molinero (A Private Affair) as Alejandro
- Zoe Bonafonte (The 47) as Gabriela
- Lluís Homar (Los Abrazos Rotos) as Logan
- Joaquín Ferreira (Club de Cuervos) as Ray
Óscar Pedraza, known for directing Patria and Vivir Sin Permiso, serves as the director. Sofía Cuenca, who worked on Culpa Tuya and Culpa Nuestra, wrote the screenplay. The production comes from Pokeepsie Films, part of Banijay Iberia, with Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang as producers.
The Success of Mercedes Ron’s Adaptations
Drawn Together marks the third collaboration between Prime Video and author Mercedes Ron. Her previous adaptations, the Culpables trilogy (My Fault, Your Fault, Our Fault), reached 100 million viewers worldwide. These films topped charts in more than 170 countries at launch, with over 90% of the audience coming from outside Spain.
This success led to a wider partnership called the House of Ron, covering 10 book-to-screen adaptations. The deal includes the Culpables trilogy, Tell Me Softly, and the English-language spinoff My Fault: London.
At Prime Video’s International Originals London showcase in February, Ron spoke about the partnership. She said Amazon trusts her work and respects the fandom around her stories. She believes this is why people say Amazon is making the best book adaptations.
Spanish-Language Content on Prime Video
The release of Drawn Together shows Prime Video’s push for non-English language content. Kelly Day, VP of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios International, pointed to the Culpables numbers as proof that local stories can reach global audiences.
The platform now offers subtitles and dubbing across more than 30 languages. Viewers can choose from up to 36 subtitle options and 22 dubbed language options in 240 countries and territories.
