Riteish Deshmukh‘s historical drama Raja Shivaji has finally made its digital debut on Netflix on June 26, 2026. The film, which became the highest-grossing Marathi film ever, is now available for streaming in both Marathi and Hindi. Record-Breaking Box Office Success of Raja Shivaji
Raja Shivaji made history at the box office. The film collected over โน130 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time. According to Jio Studios, the film earned โน109.9 crore in India and โน4.9 crore overseas.
This achievement is remarkable because the film did not have an overseas theatrical release. It surpassed the previous record holder Sairat, which had collected โน110 crore worldwide. Made on a production budget of โน75 crore, the film is also the most expensive Marathi film ever produced.

Riteish Deshmukh directed the film and also played the lead role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The movie features a mix of Marathi and Hindi cinema stars in important roles.
Sanjay Dutt appears as Afzal Khan, the Adil Shahi general. Abhishek Bachchan plays Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale. Vidya Balan takes on the role of Khadija Sultana. Genelia Deshmukh plays Saibai. Bhagyashree portrays Rajmata Jijabai.
