Story Progression
This reimagining of the classic tale puts a fresh spin on the Zorro legend. The year is 1821. Don Diego de la Vega has hung up his mask and cape for two decades. He has chosen a different path to justice, getting elected as mayor of Los Angeles to improve his beloved city from within.
However, Diego’s political powers are not enough to fight the rampant injustice plaguing Los Angeles. A corrupt local businessman, Don Emmanuel (Eric Elmosnino), threatens the city’s financial stability with his greed. Forced to take action, Diego must dust off his Zorro costume after 20 years to fight the corruption from the shadows.
The series focuses on a central and relatable conflict: Diego’s struggle to manage his dual identity. His secret life as Zorro strains his marriage to Gabriella (Audrey Dana), who is not aware of her husband’s alter ego. The show explores whether Diego can salvage his marriage and his sanity amidst the chaos of being a masked vigilante and a mayor.
