Production for The Pitt Season 3 is currently underway in Los Angeles, and the hit HBO Max medical drama is adding six new actors to its roster. Among the new additions is Pruitt Taylor Vince, who recently played Jonathan Kent in the 2025 Superman movie, alongside Malachi Beasley, known for A House of Dynamite. The new cast members will take on roles ranging from emergency department patients to student doctors as the series continues its intense, real-time look at a Pittsburgh hospital’s ER.
New Cast Members and Their Roles in the Emergency Department
The six actors joining The Pitt Season 3 will all appear in recurring roles, bringing fresh faces to the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
Pruitt Taylor Vince, a veteran actor who played Pa Kent in James Gunn’s Superman, will step into the role of Lance Candella. His character is also known as The Professor and will be a patient in the emergency department. This role is expected to bring a steady presence to the ER, allowing for ongoing connections with the attending doctors.
Malachi Beasley, who viewers might recognize from A House of Dynamite and Fight for ’84, will play Student Doctor Taj Osei. He’s joining the medical team as a new student doctor, which is a recurring role that allows him to work under the senior staff.
Cheyenne Perez, known for her work in The Sex Lives of College Girls, is set to play another student doctor, Marisol Elena Sambrano Monterossa. She’ll be joining the ER staff as part of the new wave of medical professionals.
The remaining additions include Jeremy Radin (The Accountant 2) as Grant Emerson, Charlz Williams (Seal Team) as Angus Gunn (aka Trigger), and Rosanny Zayas (The L Word: Generation Q) as Physician Assistant Vera Delgado. Both Radin and Williams will also be playing patients in the emergency department, while Zayas will join the hospital staff as a physician assistant.

What to Expect from Season 3
The Pitt Season 3 is set to premiere in January 2027. The show, which follows Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) and his team through a single 15-hour ER shift, will jump forward in time. After Season 2 took place during the Fourth of July weekend, the new season will be set in early November. This change means viewers will see how colder weather brings a new set of emergencies and complications to the ER.
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill mentioned that they wanted a shorter time jump for Season 3 so that less story has happened between seasons. Executive producer John Wells also confirmed the writers’ room is back at work and production is scheduled to return with another 15 episodes.
