The new season of the hit K-drama kicks off with a deadly bomb threat. Ahn Bo Hyun reunites with Jung Eun Chae in a life-or-death situation right from the first episode.

A Bomb Threat at the Department Store
The first episode throws viewers straight into the action. Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun) and his teammates from Violent Crimes Unit 1 respond to an anonymous tip. They discover an improvised explosive device at Hansoo Department Store.
Things take a dangerous turn when Jin Yi Soo accidentally touches the bomb. He finds himself unable to let go. If he does, the entire department store could explode.
His teammates Park Joon Young (Kang Sang Jun) and Choi Kyung Jin (Kim Shin Bi) turn pale. They urgently signal for him not to move.
A Reunion With the ‘Demon Instructor’
The crisis brings back a familiar face. Joo Hye Ra (Jung Eun Chae) arrives at the scene in tactical police gear.
She is Jin Yi Soo’s former instructor from the police academy. He called her the “demon instructor” who hated him. Now, she is the head of the National Police Agency’s counterterrorism team.
The two reunite under extreme circumstances. Jin Yi Soo becomes a human ticking time bomb while facing his old nemesis.
A New Partner and Team Dynamic
Jung Eun Chae joins the cast as a new team leader for Season 2. Her character, Joo Hye Ra, replaces the previous team leader.
She shared her thoughts at the production presentation on August 4. “As a fan, I was so curious about how the upbeat rhythm of Season 1 would expand,” she said. She added that she chose the role because she heard the team chemistry was great.
Jung Eun Chae explained her character’s journey. “Although they start with a hate-hate relationship, she is a character who gradually grows into a wonderful cooperative partner as they solve cases”.
Ahn Bo Hyun also shared his thoughts on working with her. “In episodes 1 and 2, there are scenes where Yi-soo gets pushed around by Team Leader Joo Hye-ra, which will deliver a dopamine rush to viewers”.
Bigger Cases and More Action
The production team promises a bigger scale this season. “Season 2 will feature a series of cases that only a chaebol detective like Jin Yi Soo could encounter,” they said. “From the scale of the incidents to their highly unconventional settings, viewers can look forward to cases unlike anything seen in a typical investigative drama”.
Ahn Bo Hyun described his return to the role. “It felt exciting, like returning to school after winter break”.
He also talked about the character’s growth. Jin Yi Soo completed police academy training between seasons. “He has become a bit more mature after going through police academy,” Ahn Bo Hyun said.
The actor is confident about the new season. “From my perspective, Season 2 has the fun of deducing mysteries,” he said. “I think those parts will make the younger sibling (Season 2) surpass the older brother (Season 1)”.
Returning Cast and Guest Stars
Most of the Season 1 cast returns for the new season. Kang Sang Jun and Kim Shin Bi reprise their roles as Jin Yi Soo’s teammates.
Yoo Seung Ho makes a special appearance as fellow chaebol heir Yoo Sung Won. Kwak Si Yang also returns as the Season 1 villain in a cameo.

‘Flex X Cop 2’ airs every Friday and Saturday on SBS. The season will have 14 episodes and the finale airs on September 12. International fans can stream it on Disney+.
