True crime fans have a new series to follow. ‘Somebody Knows Something’ premiered on August 10, 2026, on Freeform. The docuseries streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.
The show is hosted by Kara Robinson Chamberlain, a true crime influencer, kidnapping survivor, and former law enforcement officer. She investigates unsolved murders and missing persons cases that have stumped police and haunted online sleuths for years.
Kara Robinson Chamberlain Brings a Survivor’s Perspective to Cold Cases
Kara Robinson Chamberlain is not new to crime stories. In 2002, at age 15, she was abducted by a serial killer in South Carolina. She escaped and helped expose the perpetrator. That experience shaped her path toward advocacy and investigation.
“(I am also) the person who’s moving the stories along, both as an investigator, as a trained victim’s advocate, as a survivor myself. Talking with law enforcement, with families, with survivors to tell the stories of some cold cases that have been really well covered and well known,” Chamberlain told On The Red Carpet.
Her background gives her a unique connection to the families she meets. She understands what victims and their loved ones go through because she has lived through something similar.
Chamberlain also served as a law enforcement officer. This experience helps her communicate with police departments and understand investigation procedures. She works alongside families, law enforcement, and the true crime online community.
The show’s title comes from a phrase that kept coming up during production. Chamberlain said every single episode had someone organically say, “And somebody knows something about what happened”.
What Cases Does the Series Cover?
The series features eight episodes, with one case covered in each episode. Here are the cases featured in the first few weeks:
Episode 1 (August 10) – “The Baby in the Yellow Blanket” : Five-month-old Sabrina Aisenberg vanished from her crib at her Florida home on November 24, 1997. The investigation focused on her parents, Marlene and Steve Aisenberg. They were charged in 1999 with making false statements to law enforcement. Prosecutors dropped the charges in 2001. The case remains unsolved.
Episode 2 (August 10) – “Lost in the Night” : Lashaya Stine, a 16-year-old honor-roll student from Aurora, Colorado, left her home around 2:00 a.m. on July 15, 2016, and never returned. Police initially thought she was a runaway, but evidence pointed to foul play. Her mother, Sabrina Jones, told Chamberlain she had to convince officers her daughter was not a runaway.
Episode 3 (August 17) – “Disappeared in the Desert” : Steven Koecher, 30, abandoned his car in a Nevada cul-de-sac nearly two hours from his Utah home. As a devout Mormon, his unexplained proximity to Las Vegas and a series of mysterious road trips pointed to unexpected secrets.
Episode 4 (August 24) – “Lost at Sea” : Kevin McGrath, a 26-year-old Army veteran, vanished from a Carnival cruise while celebrating his father’s 60th birthday over Labor Day weekend. A 3,300-mile Coast Guard search found no trace of him.
Episode 5 (August 31) – “Lost at the Science Fair” : Second grader Kyron Horman went missing from his Portland area school in 2010. Investigators focused on his stepmother after unproven rumors of a murder-for-hire plot, but she was never charged.
Other cases covered in the series include the murder of Liz Barraza at a garage sale, the disappearance of distance runner Amy Wroe Bechtel while jogging in the Wyoming mountains, and Brandy Hall, who vanished after leaving the Malabar Fire Station.
How to Watch ‘Somebody Knows Something’
The series premiered on August 10, 2026, with the first two episodes airing back-to-back. New episodes air weekly on Mondays at 9:00 pm ET/PT on Freeform.
Each episode streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers. The show is also available on Disney+ the day after airing.

“There is a very good potential that they could be solved. They’re just missing a little something. And, or there’s new information or new evidence that is being analyzed or released by law enforcement,” Chamberlain said.
