The cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has started sharing details about what viewers can expect from the upcoming third season. During recent events and interviews, Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, and other cast members dropped hints about reunions, character departures, and a more dangerous tone for the Disney+ series.
Season 3 will adapt The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan‘s bestselling series. The new season premieres on November 20, 2026 on Disney+. Production wrapped earlier this year, with filming taking place in Vancouver from August 2025 through March 2026.
Cast Members Promise Reunions of Old Friends
Charlie Bushnell, who plays Luke Castellan, shared during the D23 event that Season 3 will bring familiar faces back together.
“Season 3 is the season where old friends reunite.”
This comment lines up with the book’s storyline. The Titan’s Curse introduces the Hunters of Artemis and brings back characters like Thalia Grace, played by Tamara Smart, who becomes more important to the ongoing prophecy.
Tamara Smart talked about building the connection between Thalia and Percy during the D23 presentation.
“I’ve never really had a brother, but this is the closest thing I think I’ll ever get to it.”
Walker Scobell also mentioned how much he missed working with Leah Sava Jeffries during filming, since Annabeth’s character gets separated from Percy early in the story.
Aryan Simhadri Hints at a Character Goodbye
Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover Underwood, gave fans something to think about when he teased a character departure.
“Season 3 is the season where we say goodbye… It’s not for the show [laughs]… Like the character we all say goodbye.”
This comment points to possible character deaths in the upcoming season. In The Titan’s Curse, two important characters die: Bianca di Angelo and Zoë Nightshade.
Olive Abercrombie plays Bianca di Angelo, the daughter of Hades and older sister of Nico. Saara Chaudry takes on the role of Zoë Nightshade, a Hunter of Artemis and daughter of Atlas.
The show has not confirmed if both characters will meet the same fate as in the books. But the cast’s comments suggest the season will include emotional farewells.
Leah Sava Jeffries added her own tease about the season’s theme.
“Season 3 is the season where women run it.”
This matches the book’s focus on the Hunters of Artemis and the strong female characters who play major roles in the story.
The Darkest Season Yet
The cast and producers have described Season 3 as the most intense chapter of the series so far.
Walker Scobell previously stated:
“It’s definitely our darkest season yet… The Titan’s Curse is when it really hooks into the meat of the story.”
Executive producer Craig Silverstein explained how the show’s stakes keep rising.
“We had a lot more blood in season 2 than we had in season 1, and now the next step is death, right? People are dying, and the stakes just keep dialing up, and getting more real.”
The creators are balancing darker content with the show’s younger audience in mind. The violence and scarier monsters will increase, but the team is careful about how far they push things.
Walker Scobell also mentioned during the D23 panel that this season might be the most faithful adaptation of the source material.
What Happens in Season 3
The official synopsis for Season 3 describes the main conflict:
“When Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos, Percy must embark on a perilous journey to rescue her. He must free a goddess in chains, confront the Titan’s curse, and avoid triggering the fall of Olympus. With Grover by his side, Percy must join some unlikely questmates to confront a prophecy with dire consequences.”
The season follows the Great Prophecy, which states that a child of the Big Three gods will either save Olympus or destroy it. This prophecy becomes central to the story as Percy faces new challenges.
The trailer shows Percy bearing the weight of the sky, a key moment from The Titan’s Curse. It also teases the growing threat of Kronos and his forces.
