The makers of Yash‘s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups released the English trailer on August 19, 2026. Within hours, social media users started sharing their thoughts. Many said the English version looks better than the Hindi trailer that came out on August 8. Some fans even called it a strong reply to everyone who criticized the film earlier.

The original Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam trailers received mixed reactions when they dropped. People pointed out issues with dialogue delivery and dubbing. But the English trailer changed the conversation. Viewers praised the natural dialogue delivery and the Hollywood-style feel.

Yash also addressed the rumours that the film had been shelved. He revealed that the team shot for 200 days for both the Kannada and English versions. He said, “Every penny spent is on screen”. About Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups

Toxic is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Geetu Mohandas. The film is set in Goa’s coastal underworld, spanning from the 1940s to the 1970s. Yash plays a dual role as Raya, a ruthless gangster, and his son Ticket. The story follows Raya’s rise to power through smuggling, betrayal, and bloodshed.

The ensemble cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film’s action sequences were choreographed by J.J. Perry, known for his work on the John Wick and Fast & Furious franchises. Yash not only stars in the film but also co-wrote and produced it through his company Monster Mind Creations.

Toxic was shot simultaneously in English and Kannada. It will release in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English. The film has an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC and a runtime of 3 hours and 14 minutes.

Release Date and Box Office Expectations

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on August 26, 2026. The film will screen across multiple territories in North America, with Prime Media Studios acquiring the distribution rights. North American theaters will show the film in English and Kannada, with dubbed versions available.

The film had a delayed release. It was originally set for March 2026, then pushed to June, before finally locking the August 26 date. Advance bookings opened on August 21. The film has already crossed ₹1 crore in US advance bookings. It is expected to release on over 12,000 screens worldwide.

Yash is also producing another big project, Ramayana, where he plays the demon king Ravana. But for now, all eyes are on Toxic and its global release.
