Yadav spoke to ANI and addressed those questioning his standing as an artist. He mentioned that he still gets 500 selfies clicked with fans at every airport. ‘No One Can Buy Me’: Rajpal Yadav’s Strong Statement

Rajpal Yadav described himself as a student of Indian cinema. He said his commitment to acting and theatre remains unchanged. The actor acknowledged that he owes money to some people but insisted he will pay everyone back.

“I am dedicated to my career. I am an art student of Indian cinema. If I owe money to 100-200 people in the last 30-40 years, from the village to here, then it will reach their homes. It doesn’t matter, because I know where it is.”

Yadav then questioned why people judge an artist’s entire life based on temporary financial problems.

The actor made a powerful statement about his integrity. He said money cannot buy him, no matter the amount.

“No one can buy me for 5 crores, 10 crores, 100 crores, 250 crores because I have been sold in the name of art since childhood. No one can buy me for money. Believe me on this.”

The actor firmly stated that he has never felt lost in his life.

“I said from the first day that I was never lost. Neither by making films, nor by making a house, nor by making a career.”

Rajpal Yadav Claims Rs 250 Crore Loss in 13 Years

In the same interview, Rajpal Yadav made a surprising claim about his financial losses. He said he suffered a personal loss of Rs 200-250 crore between 2013 and 2026.

“From 2013 to 2016, I have suffered a personal loss of Rs 200-250 crore. I am saying this from my heart. I missed at least 50 of my tours abroad. And whatever fees I should have been getting was reduced.”

“I am a student of the arts. I chase perfection in my art. Fees will come running behind.”

Yadav also mentioned that he has work commitments worth Rs 1200 crore. He said the complainant in the case rejected property papers and security amounts he offered in court.

The Cheque Bounce Case: What Happened

The legal trouble started in 2010 when Rajpal Yadav took a loan of around Rs 5 crore from a Delhi-based company called Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd. He borrowed the money to make his directorial debut film Ata Pata Laapata. The movie was a comedy but failed at the box office. It did not earn enough to cover the costs.

The unpaid amount grew over the years because of interest and other charges. What started as a Rs 5 crore loan reportedly increased to nearly Rs 9 crore.

In July 2026, the Delhi High Court upheld the conviction and sentence of Rajpal Yadav and his wife, Radha Yadav, in multiple cheque dishonour cases. The court sentenced the actor to three months of imprisonment in seven concurrent cases.

The court found that Yadav repeatedly sought time to arrange funds. He assured the court on several occasions that he would repay the complainant. Relying on these assurances, the court granted him repeated adjournments. However, the court noted that despite multiple opportunities over a considerable period, Yadav failed to honour his commitments.

In February 2026, the court ordered him to surrender. He was lodged in Tihar Jail for a few days. He was later released after repaying part of the amount to the complainant.

Several actors, including Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, announced financial help for him when he surrendered at Tihar Jail claiming he had no money.
