The series, which streamed its second season on the platform, crossed 125 million viewing hours within just six weeks of its premiere. The show’s success has created a strong buzz, and now the show’s host, Farah Khan, is publicly asking for another season.
The show, created by Ekta Kapoor and produced by Balaji Telefilms, brought a fresh captive reality format to Netflix. It featured celebrities living together in a jail-like setting, facing tasks, eliminations, and emotional moments. The series became a daily talking point for viewers, with its dramatic moments, dialogues, and memes continuing to spark conversations even after the finale.
125 Million Viewing Hours in Six Weeks
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa completed its six-week run on Netflix with an impressive 125 million viewing hours. This number shows how deeply the audience connected with the show’s unique format. The series found viewers across 12 countries on Netflix, while its most memorable moments spread widely through social media, creator videos, and word of mouth.
More than 7 million conversations were generated around the show. Its content crossed 5 billion views on social media platforms. Now, with the number reaching 125 million, the show’s popularity has only grown stronger.
Farah Khan’s Demand for Season 2
When Netflix posted a promotional video on Instagram celebrating the show’s success, Farah Khan, who served as one of the jailors and co-host of the show alongside Riteish Deshmukh, reacted immediately. She commented on the post saying, “Ab season 2 jaldi shuru karoooooo!!!”.
Her reaction shows her excitement about the show’s performance and her willingness to return for another season. Farah Khan has plenty of experience handling reality shows and celebrity drama, which made her a strong choice for hosting the new season. She replaced Kangana Ranaut, who had hosted the first season in 2022.
Farah Khan’s comment quickly gained attention from fans and media. Many fans also expressed their support for another season. The demand for more content from the Lock Upp franchise is now louder than ever.
The Show’s Journey to Netflix
The first season of Lock Upp was hosted by Kangana Ranaut and streamed on ALTBalaji and MX Player in February 2022. The format was later picked up and reimagined by Netflix, which announced it as a fresh adaptation. The second season, titled Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, premiered exclusively on Netflix on June 27, 2026.
The show featured 15 contestants who entered the lockup with three closely guarded personal secrets each. Throughout the competition, they were required to reveal hidden truths while taking on demanding physical and mental challenges. The contestants faced nominations, eliminations, tasks, alliances, and rivalries while being confined in the jail setting.
The season also welcomed two wild-card entries as the game progressed. The show was designed with a mix of television, OTT, and social media influencers. It streamed new episodes every week, and due to overwhelming audience demand, Netflix even extended the show’s daily run.
Shreya Kalra Wins the Trophy
After six weeks of drama, challenges, alliances, and eliminations, Shreya Kalra emerged as the winner of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. She defeated fellow finalist Shivangi Joshi by a narrow margin of just seven votes to lift the coveted trophy.
The Top 5 finalists included Ram Kapoor, Yogesh Rawat, Shilpa Shinde, Shivangi Joshi, and Shreya Kalra. In the grand finale, Shreya took the trophy and walked away with ₹1 crore as prize money. Shivangi Joshi finished as the runner-up.
Shreya Kalra, a content creator and former MTV Roadies participant, made headlines during the season for her friendships and intense confrontations inside the lockup. Her journey from a wildcard contestant on Roadies in 2020 to winning Lock Upp shows how far she has come in the reality show space.
Farah Khan Hosts Grand Success Party
To celebrate the show’s strong performance, Farah Khan hosted a grand success party and dinner at her residence in Mumbai. The gathering came shortly after Lock Upp Season 2 crossed millions of viewing hours on Netflix India.
