Lock Upp Season 2 winner Shreya Kalra has strongly responded to social media users who called her an undeserving winner and claimed the reality show was biased. The content creator and actress addressed the criticism during a question-and-answer session with fans on Instagram, where she did not hold back.
Shreya questioned why viewers did not raise fairness concerns earlier in the season when several controversial twists took place. She pointed out that contestants were brought back after elimination, kept in secret rooms, and advantages were taken away from her and given to others.
“You tell me if not me then who? Why didn’t people call the show biased when contestants were brought back? Why didn’t they call the show biased when they were kept in the secret room? Why didn’t they say it was biased when an advantage was taken away from me and given to someone else? Why didn’t they say it then? (Mic drop ho chuka hai guys)”
The reality star ended her response with a confident “Mic drop ho chuka hai doston” (the mic has already been dropped, friends).
Controversy Erupts After Shreya Kalra Lifts Lock Upp 2 Trophy
Shreya Kalra won Lock Upp Season 2 on August 5, 2026, defeating Shivangi Joshi in the grand finale. She took home the trophy and a ₹1 crore cash prize. The victory came after weeks of intense competition, rivalries, and emotional moments inside the Netflix reality show.
The finale saw the top five contestants – Shreya Kalra, Shivangi Joshi, Yogesh Rawat, Ram Kapoor, and Shilpa Shinde – compete in multiple tasks. Ram Kapoor was eliminated first after a puzzle task, followed by Shilpa Shinde in the Bluff Master round. Yogesh Rawat finished as the second runner-up.
The winner was decided through votes from the jailers (hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh), former contestants, and the public jury. Shreya won by a narrow margin of just seven votes.
Farah Khan Addresses Bias Allegations Against Lock Upp 2
Host Farah Khan also faced accusations of favouring Shreya Kalra during the season. In a recent vlog, she addressed the trolls directly.
People questioned her bias after discovering that Shreya’s YouTube company and Farah’s own were both managed by the same team, Qyuki, which handles over 70 content creators. Farah clarified that she had no idea about this connection before the show.
“After two weeks I got to know because people started commenting that I was a biased host. Why? Because her YouTube company and mine are managed by the same team named Qyuki. They have 70 content creators! So I called them and asked if Shreya is under them, and they said yes. But I didn’t know, so how was I biased?”
Farah also revealed that she had told the makers she would get emotionally involved with contestants because of her love for reality television. She said, “If they wanted a strict jailer, they should have brought Kiran Bedi”.
In a direct conversation with Shreya after her win, Farah asked on record whether they had ever met before the show. Shreya confirmed they had not.
Shreya Kalra Points Out Inconsistencies in Trolls’ Criticism
During her Instagram Q&A, Shreya Kalra highlighted several moments from the season that, according to her, should have attracted the same criticism.
She mentioned that Akanksha Choudhary was kept in a secret room after being evicted through inmate voting and later re-entered the show a week later. Yogesh Rawat and Harshad Chopda were also evicted but returned as wildcards just two weeks before the finale.
In the semi-final task, Shreya received an advantage that allowed her to decide who would be eliminated immediately. She picked Shivangi Joshi, but the decision eventually went to Harshad Chopda, the first finalist, who gave his place to Shivangi and saved her from elimination. Harshad was eventually eliminated from the show.
“Tab logon ne kyun nahi bola show biased hai jab logon ki re-entry hui, tab logon ne kyun nahi bola biased hai show jab unko secret room me rakha gaya. Tab logon ne kyun nahi bola jab mujhse advantage le kar kisi aur ko de di gayi, tab logon ne kyun nahi bola?”
Shreya questioned why these twists did not spark the same outrage about fairness.
Fans and Fellow Contestants React to Shreya Kalra’s Victory
Social media had mixed reactions to Shreya Kalra’s win. Many fans celebrated her victory and called her “strong,” “real,” and “deserving”. Others supported Shivangi Joshi and expressed disappointment over the close voting margin.
Shilpa Shinde, who was Shreya’s close friend inside the house, broke down in tears of happiness when Shreya was announced as the winner. She later shared her joy on social media.
Former contestant Varun Yadav, who finished in sixth place, had earlier stated that neither Shreya nor Shivangi deserved to win. He believed he was a more deserving winner.
Post-Finale Party Shows Shreya and Shivangi Putting Differences Aside
After the finale, Farah Khan hosted a success bash at her Mumbai residence. A video shared by producer Ektaa Kapoor showed Shreya Kalra and Shivangi Joshi dancing together to the song Kisi Disco Mein Jaayen.
The moment came as a surprise, especially after Shreya had called Shivangi “backstabber Joshi” in a post-win video. In that video, Shreya was watching the semi-finale episode with friends when Shivangi said, “Aise karke game jeetogi naa, toh naam badalwa dena mera” (change my name if you win the show like this). When friends asked what name she would give Shivangi, Shreya replied, “backstabber Joshi”.
Despite their rivalry throughout the season, the two finalists appeared to have mended ways at the party.

Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2 premiered on Netflix on June 27, 2026 and quickly became one of the platform’s top shows. The season featured celebrity contestants sharing emotional confessions, from opening up about personal trauma to announcing divorces.
