Disney+ is kicking off the fall season with one of its most ambitious content lineups of the year. September 2026 brings a staggering array of new releases across both Disney+ and Hulu, anchored by two massive movie premieres—Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and Pixar’s billion-dollar hit Toy Story 5—alongside the return of multiple fan-favorite television franchises, a wave of Hulu Originals, live sports coverage, and an extensive podcast lineup.
What makes this month particularly noteworthy is the diversity of content hitting the platforms. From the galaxy far, far away to the animated toy box, from vampire-filled Berlin to the dance floor, from college football to the catfish-filled gridiron—September has something for every subscriber. September 1: Kicking Off the Month with Finales and Fresh Episodes
The month begins with a mix of reality TV conclusions and new animated content. Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro airs its Season 1 finale, crowning the winner of this spin-off competition. Meanwhile, young viewers can enjoy new episodes of Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid Season 2.

September 2: Star Wars Takes Center Stage
This is the big one. September 2 marks the streaming premiere of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, the theatrical release directed by Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal alongside the beloved Grogu, with Sigourney Weaver and voice work from Martin Scorsese and Jeremy Allen White. The film arrives on Disney+ following its theatrical run earlier this year.
But Disney+ isn’t stopping there. The same day brings LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an all-new animated special from Lucasfilm that retells the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu across the three seasons of The Mandalorian in comedic LEGO fashion. September 3: Chad Powers Returns
Glen Powell’s sports comedy Chad Powers returns for its highly anticipated second season, with all six episodes dropping at once on Hulu (and Disney+ internationally). The series follows hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, who tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers—a talented oddball who walks onto the struggling South Georgia Catfish.

September 4: Spider-Man Double Feature
Marvel fans get a treat on September 4 as Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) both arrive on Disney+. This marks a significant expansion of the Spider-Man library on the platform.
The day also brings new episodes of Flex X Cop Season 2 and continued podcast content from Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective and The Domonique Foxworth Show.
September 5: Camp Rock Shorts and More K-Drama
Locker Diaries: Camp Rock: Shorts premieres on September 5, following the recent release of Camp Rock 3 with another batch of shorts themed around characters from the beloved musical movie franchise. A new episode of Flex X Cop Season 2 also drops.
September 7-8: New Series and Spinoffs
September 7 brings new episodes of Dragon Striker: Gorotama Stars Season 1.
September 8 is a notable day for drama fans, as FX’s The Drop: A Snowfall Saga premieres. This eight-episode drama series follows Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons in 1990s Los Angeles as West Coast rap rises from the fallout of the crack epidemic. The spinoff of the acclaimed series Snowfall debuts on FX and Hulu, streaming internationally on Disney+. September 18-19: iHeartRadio Music Festival
Live music fans can look forward to the iHeartRadio Music Festival streaming on September 18 and 19.
September 21: Wicked Hits Hulu
Wicked, one of the year’s most talked-about awards-season titles, arrives on Hulu on September 21.
September 23: Toy Story 5
Toy Story 5, the global blockbuster from Disney and Pixar, begins streaming exclusively on Disney+ on September 23. The fifth installment in the beloved animated franchise, written and directed by Andrew Stanton, arrives on the platform after its June theatrical release and a $1 billion box office run. This 13th installment of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s long-running anthology brings back an all-star cast, with many reprising fan-favorite roles, for a season built around the franchise’s most feared number. September 27-28: The Simpsons and More
A Complete Unknown, the Bob Dylan biopic, arrives on Hulu on September 27.
September 27 also marks the arrival of The Simpsons Season 37 on Disney+, as Season 38 premieres on Fox the same day. The 37th season, which aired on Fox last year, finally makes its way to Disney+ this fall.
September 28 brings the finale of Futurama Season 14, with new episodes continuing to roll out weekly.
