Starz has confirmed that P-Valley will close its doors after three seasons. The acclaimed strip-club drama will return for its third and final season on Friday, December 4, 2026, with two back-to-back episodes premiering on the same night. The announcement came alongside a teaser trailer, first-look photos, and a farewell letter from creator Katori Hall, who revealed the decision to end the show was entirely hers.

The final season will consist of nine episodes, one fewer than Season 2’s ten-episode order. New episodes will roll out weekly on Fridays through the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. For viewers in the United States, the series airs on the Starz cable network at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In the UK, Canada, and Australia, Starz content is available through regional streaming partners and the Starz app where accessible. Indian audiences can typically access Starz originals through platforms such as Lionsgate Play, which carries several Starz titles in the region. The show has also been available internationally through Amazon Prime Video in select territories.

Why Katori Hall Decided to End the Show

Katori Hall shared a detailed letter with fans explaining her reasoning for wrapping up the series. The story began as a stage play called Pussy Valley in 2009 before debuting on television in 2020 as P-Valley.

“There comes a moment when every stripper must hang up her heels. Seventeen years into this dance, that time has come.”

Hall also spoke about the rare chance to finish a series on her own terms.

“The rarest honor a showrunner can have in today’s industry is to end a series on her own terms. This is why I chose to say goodbye with grace, grit and glitter, lowering the curtain on P-Valley at season three with a farewell y’all truly deserve.”

Starz’s President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby, also shared a statement about the show’s impact.

“‘P-Valley’ has been embraced by critics and fans for the same reasons it has been brand-defining for Starz: because of its courageously bold, powerfully provocative, and deeply inclusive storytelling.”

What Happens in the Final Season

The final season picks up with the newly opened Promised Land Casino flooding the town of Chucalissa, Mississippi, with new money. The official logline states that “mo’ money does indeed bring mo’ mayhem.”

Uncle Clifford (played by Nicco Annan) is looking to expand her empire beyond The Pynk. Roulette (played by Gail Bean) breaks one of the club’s biggest rules to build something of her own. Lil’ Murda (played by J. Alphonse Nicholson) faces complications from his gang ties while trying to grow his music career. Keyshawn (played by Shannon Thornton) is still fighting to escape a dangerous situation with Derrick (played by Jordan M. Cox).

Four-Year Wait Since Season 2

The gap between Season 2 and Season 3 has been unusually long. Season 2 ended on August 14, 2022. Production was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and later by the 2023 Hollywood strikes involving the SAG-AFTRA and WGA unions. Filming for Season 3 finally began by May 2024.

Despite the long break, Season 2 averaged nearly 10.3 million viewers across linear, VOD, and streaming platforms domestically, according to Starz’s 2022 data. The show has been a critical favorite since its debut, earning praise for its writing, performances, and unflinching portrayal of life in the Mississippi Delta.

Fans React to the Final Season News

Reactions across social media and fan forums show a mix of excitement and sadness. On Lipstick Alley, a long-running forum thread about the show’s return drew comments from users who had been waiting years for the conclusion.
