Pierce Brosnan has finally spoken out about the behind-the-scenes drama that surrounded Tom Hardy during the filming of MobLand Season 2. The veteran actor, who plays crime family patriarch Conrad Harrigan in the Paramount+ series, dismissed reports of a feud with Hardy as a “storm in a teacup” during the show’s Season 2 world premiere in London.
What Exactly Happened On The MobLand Set
Reports surfaced earlier this year claiming Tom Hardy had clashed with MobLand showrunner Jez Butterworth and other members of the creative team during production of the second season. Sources alleged that Hardy, who plays fixer Harry Da Souza, frequently refused to leave his trailer for hours at a time, keeping co-stars including Pierce Brosnan and Dame Helen Mirren waiting on set. The reports also claimed Hardy offered script notes and altered dialogue during filming, which added to friction with producers. At one point, speculation grew so intense that multiple outlets reported Hardy had been fired from the show and would not return for a potential third season.
Pierce Brosnan Sets The Record Straight
Speaking to the Press Association at the premiere held at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, London, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, Brosnan was direct about the situation.
“Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really,” the 73-year-old actor said. “I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly.”
Brosnan went on to describe the cast as a tight-knit group despite the intense filming schedule.
“We are rock solid as a company, as a family,” he said. “Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that. Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes.”
Tom Hardy Calls Working With Brosnan A Privilege
Tom Hardy also addressed the situation at the premiere, telling the Press Association that there was no truth to the firing rumours.
“There was no firing, there was no walking away and there was no arguments in that aspect,” Hardy said.
The 48-year-old actor spoke warmly about working alongside Brosnan and Mirren, both of whom he grew up watching on screen.
“They’re awesome. In many aspects of course, I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me,” Hardy said. “So, to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being.”
What MobLand Season 2 Will Bring
MobLand Season 2 is set to premiere globally on Paramount+ on Friday, September 18, 2026, with 10 episodes releasing weekly on Fridays. The season finale is scheduled for November 20, 2026.
