Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 has reached its halfway mark, and the prequel has already delivered five episodes packed with separation, war, and hard choices. The season premiered on September 18, 2026, with new episodes arriving weekly on Fridays. The story continues to follow two couples in different centuries: Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie in the 1715 Jacobite Rising, and Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp in the 1920s and the 18th century. Episodes 1 through 5 have moved both love stories through capture, battle, and betrayal, with each character facing a different kind of fight.

Episode 1: Remembrance Day – Henry Ends Up in an Asylum While Julia Returns to Castle Leathers

The premiere picks up right where Season 1 ended. Henry (Jeremy Irvine) tries to send himself, Julia (Hermione Corfield), and their baby William through the stones at Craigh na Dun. The attempt fails for Julia. Henry is stabbed and touches the stones by accident, travelling back to 1924 alone. Julia and William remain in the 18th century and are forced back to Castle Leathers under Lord Lovat (Tony Curran).

Henry wakes up in 1924 confused and injured. He is placed in the Inverness asylum, where doctors use electroshock therapy on him. The treatment scrambles his memories, and he loses his grip on what is real. Jeremy Irvine said the twist gives the character “lots of obstacles to try and overcome”.

Julia tells Davina (Sara Vickers) the truth about time travel. She admits she does not know if she will ever see Henry or her daughter Claire again. “A part of my heart is missing and I’m afraid it always will be,” Julia says.

Episode 2: The Veil of Time – Brian Fights Dougal and Julia Learns the Stones May Not Work for Her

Brian (Jamie Roy) and Ellen (Harriet Slater) are pulled back into clan duty. Brian joins his father Lord Lovat to gather men for Clan Fraser. He later rides to Castle Leoch to check on Ellen and ends up in a fist fight with her brother Dougal (Sam Retford). Jamie Roy explained that Brian has found something worth fighting for. “If Dougal’s going to throw a punch, you’re damn straight that Brian’s going to throw a harder one back”.

At Castle Leathers, Julia asks the seer Maisri about the stones. Maisri tells her plainly that Julia does not have the power to travel through them again. The news leaves Julia trapped in the past with no clear way home. A letter about Henry appears in an Inverness newspaper, but it is not confirmed whether Julia sees it.

Henry escapes the asylum dressed in a reverend’s outfit and sets out to find a way back to 1715. Meanwhile, Murtagh (Rory Alexander) meets Grace (Ruby Fubara), a maid in Jocasta Cameron’s household. The two share a connection that becomes a small bright spot in an otherwise dark hour.

Episode 3: Rabbits Dont Swim – Ellen Turns Castle Leoch Into a Battlefield

Most of the men have left Castle Leoch to fight, leaving Ellen, Colum (Séamus McLean Ross), and the women behind. James MacKinney (Ryan Fletcher) arrives with armed men to claim the castle. He dismisses the women as “rabbits who will bolt for their burrows”.

Ellen does not hide. She frees the women, kills a guard, and begins picking off MacKinney’s men one by one. Janet (Alisa Davidson) is killed during the fight, a loss that hits the household hard. Ellen ends the siege by killing MacKinney in the great hall. Before he dies, MacKinney reveals that Lord Lovat has made a deal with the English to trap the Jacobite forces.

At Castle Leathers, a new maid named Seema (Lauren McQueen) arrives. Seema makes it clear she knew Henry intimately while he was grieving Julia’s disappearance. Lord Lovat refuses to send Seema away and instead installs her as Julia’s watcher. Julia is left in a house where she is surrounded by people who either serve Lovat or know parts of Henry’s past she cannot control.

Episode 4: A Portion of My Soul – Henry Returns but He Cannot Remember His Daughter

Henry makes it back through the stones to 1715. Arch Bug (Terence Rae) captures him and is ready to kill him, but Murdina (Sorcha Groundsell) sees the scars from the electroshock therapy and believes Henry has been marked by fairies. Arch only pretends to whip Henry, and the two begin an uneasy partnership on the battlefield.

Julia learns Henry is alive and rides to Bowmont House dressed as a man. The reunion finally happens. But when Julia asks about Claire, Henry cannot remember his daughter. The electroshock therapy erased his memories of her. “The worst pain I’ve ever known was not holding my daughter, not hearing her laugh, not hearing her say ‘dad’ — I let them burn her out of me,” Henry tells Julia.

Ellen reaches Brian with news of Lord Lovat’s betrayal. Brian confronts his father, who does not deny the plan to hand Inverness to the Crown. Brian chooses Ellen over the Fraser name, and Lovat disowns him on the spot. Brian rides away with Ellen, Grace, and Murtagh, with no clan of his own and a war he never planned to join on these terms.

Episode 5: Forgive Me Father – Julia Kills Seema as the Battle of Sheriffmuir Rages

Episode 5 marks the halfway point of the season and delivers the most action so far. The Battle of Sheriffmuir puts Brian and Henry on opposite sides of the field. The two men see each other across the lines and share a silent nod, acknowledging that neither will harm the other.

At Castle Leathers, Seema’s obsession with Henry reaches a breaking point. She holds Julia hostage for hours, convinced that Henry will love her once Julia is gone. Seema comes at Julia with a knife. Julia fights back and kills Seema with lethal force. The confrontation ends the threat inside the castle but leaves Julia shaken.

Ellen and Grace are ambushed on the road by Robert MacKinney (Macleod Stephen), the son of the man Ellen killed at Castle Leoch. He wants revenge, but Ellen talks her way out of the immediate danger and survives the encounter. Colum stays at Castle Leoch and prays for forgiveness, admitting he has led Clan MacKenzie badly and asking God to “forgive what I’ll do still”.
