On August 13, 2024, Lotte Entertainment officially announced that Park So Dam, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Jung Eun, and Lee Yeon will be leading the cast of Gyeongju Travel, a film that explores the depths of revenge and the strong ties between a mother and her daughters. The movie revolves around a mother who, after losing her youngest daughter due to the actions of a criminal freshly released from prison, embarks on a relentless quest for justice.
Lee Jung Eun will take on the role of Ok Sil, the mother devastated by the loss of her youngest daughter, Gyeong Ju. Lee Jung Eun, celebrated for her versatile acting skills in critically acclaimed works like Parasite, Our Blues, and Miss Night and Day, is expected to bring a powerful performance to this complex character.
Gong Hyo Jin, known for her roles in The Producers and Master’s Sun, will portray Jang Joo, the eldest daughter. Jang Joo is depicted as a responsible character who takes great care of her family. This film marks a reunion between Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jung Eun, who previously starred together in When the Camellia Blooms. Fans are eagerly anticipating their on-screen chemistry once again.
Park So Dam, who has earned acclaim for her performances in Parasite, Death’s Game, and Record of Youth, will play the role of Young Joo, the second daughter. Despite graduating from law school, Young Joo is currently unemployed, and Park So Dam’s portrayal is expected to add depth to this character’s struggles. This will be Park So Dam’s second collaboration with Lee Jung Eun, following their successful partnership in Parasite.
Lee Yeon will take on the role of Dong Joo, the third daughter, who is a former wrestler known for her unique charm. Lee Yeon has been recognized for her work in Juvenile Justice, Kill Boksoon, and Duty After School, and her role in Gyeongju Travel is anticipated to showcase her distinctive acting abilities.
