The much-anticipated romance drama What Comes After Love has released a set of character posters, featuring the leading stars Lee Se Young and Sakaguchi Kentaro, alongside Hong Jong Hyun and Nakamura Anne. The posters vividly portray the melancholic emotions of each character, giving fans a glimpse into the intense love story that will unfold on screen.

A Tale of Love and Regret

What Comes After Love is based on the bestselling joint novel Things That Come After Love by renowned Korean writer Gong Ji Young and Japanese author Tsuji Hitonari. The drama centers around the complex relationship between a Korean woman, Hong (played by Lee Se Young), and a Japanese man, Jungo (played by Sakaguchi Kentaro), who reunite in Korea five years after their painful breakup in Japan. The story delves into their journey of rediscovery and the lingering emotions that surface when past loves are rekindled.

Character Posters: A Glimpse Into Their Hearts

The newly released character posters offer a deep dive into the emotional struggles each character faces:

  • Hong (Lee Se Young): Now a mature woman who has moved on from her once passionate romance, Hong’s poster reflects a wistful aura, suggesting a mixture of growth and unresolved feelings.
  • Jungo (Sakaguchi Kentaro): Jungo’s poster captures the regret and sorrow that have haunted him since their breakup, with his eyes conveying a deep sense of loss and yearning.
  • Min Joon (Hong Jong Hyun): Devoted to Hong, Min Joon’s poster shows his unrequited love, with a gaze that reveals his longing for something just out of reach.
  • Kanna (Nakamura Anne): As Jungo’s ex-girlfriend, Kanna’s poster poignantly expresses her late realization of what she has lost, evoking empathy from viewers who can relate to her regret.

Premiere Date and Platform Announced

The drama is set to premiere on Prime Video in September, with a special launch date of September 27, 2024, at 10 PM KST (6:30 PM IST) on Coupang Play. Directed by Moon Hyun Sung, known for his work on Seoul Vibe, the series will consist of six episodes, with new episodes released every Friday. The announcement has already sparked significant interest, particularly due to the collaboration between the Korean and Japanese entertainment industries.

Lee Se Young: A Versatile Actress

Lee Se Young continues to demonstrate her versatility across various genres, further solidifying her status as one of South Korea’s top actresses. She recently starred in the hit period fantasy K-drama The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract. Her impressive filmography includes popular dramas such as The Red Sleeve, The Law Cafe, A Korean Odyssey, The Crowned Clown, Doctor John, Memorist, Kairos, Hit The Top, and the movie Hot Young Bloods.
