Lovely Runner star Byeon Woo Seok is confirmed to make a special appearance in the upcoming romance drama No Gain No Love, featuring Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae. The news was reported on August 30, 2024, by a media outlet, with the production team later confirming the cameo.
The production team of No Gain No Love has officially confirmed that Byeon Woo Seok will indeed make a special appearance in the drama. This collaboration was made possible due to his previous work with the drama’s director, Kim Jung Sik. The two previously worked together on the JTBC drama Strong Girl Nam Soon, which concluded last November.
Byeon Woo Seok’s cameo is expected to air next week, most likely in episode 3 or 4. He has also shared the screen with Kim Young Dae in Office Watch Season 3.
“Byeon Woo Seok’s connection with Director Kim Jung Sik brought this cameo to life, and we are excited to see how his character will influence the story,” a representative from the production team shared.
The Plot of No Gain No Love
Penned by Kim Hye Young, the writer behind Her Private Life, No Gain No Love is a romantic comedy centered on Son Hae Young (Shin Min Ah), a woman who fakes a marriage to avoid personal loss, and Kim Ji Wook (Kim Young Dae), who becomes her fake husband to prevent causing any harm.
Shin Min Ah plays Son Hae Young, a woman who despises losing money and is determined to avoid any financial setbacks. When faced with the possibility of missing out on a promotion, she devises a plan to enter a fake marriage to secure her position.
Kim Ji Wook, portrayed by Kim Young Dae, is a kindhearted part-timer working night shifts at a local convenience store. Despite hiding his handsome features behind thick-framed glasses and unkempt hair, he undergoes a transformation to become Son Hae Young’s fake husband.
Byeon Woo Seok’s Recent Works
Byeon Woo Seok recently gained attention for his role in Lovely Runner alongside Kim Hye Yoon, becoming a national heartthrob. In Strong Girl Nam Soon, he portrayed the antagonist Ryu Shi Oh, a crafty and menacing mafioso who becomes involved with Gang Nam Soon (Lee Yoo Mi) and her allies as they investigate a drug cartel.
The spin-off of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon features three generations of strong women—Gil Joong Gan (Kim Hae Sook), Hwang Guem Joo (Kim Jung Eun), and Gang Nam Soon (Lee Yoo Mi)—who team up to bring down the cartel. Despite his villainous nature, Ryu Shi Oh’s attraction to Namsoon hints at a softer side, adding depth to his character.
