A pre-wedding investigation has brought to light a series of unexpected family secrets, including a mother-in-law’s past connection with her future son-in-law’s father and a shocking case of identity theft by the groom’s own mother. The story began when a man, identified as “A”, who was soon to be married, sought help from a detective team. He had growing suspicions about the relationship between his father and his soon-to-be mother-in-law.
“A”‘s father, a plastic surgeon, was known for having many affairs. This led “A”‘s mother to become deeply concerned with her appearance and develop an addiction to plastic surgery.
The father and the future mother-in-law, a former beauty pageant contestant, became very close very quickly after meeting. During their investigation, detectives found that “A”‘s father had created a social media account without his son’s knowledge and had “liked” all of the mother-in-law’s posts.
“A” also saw his father and the mother-in-law together at his father’s hospital. He remembered his mother-in-law saying, “In-laws? Let’s not use that when it’s just us, oppa.” The investigation showed that the two were college alumni.
“A”‘s mother also told her son that she saw his father and a woman go into a hotel together. “A”, his mother, and his bride-to-be went to the hotel. They found out that the father and the mother-in-law were actually preparing a surprise party for “A”‘s marriage. The father then admitted that the mother-in-law was his first love, but he had pretended not to know her when they first met.
However, the situation became even more complicated. The detectives found new information that a man was following the bride-to-be. The man stated that the bride-to-be was on a dating app and that he was dating her.
The bride-to-be said she had never seen the man before. The detectives then found out that someone was using the bride-to-be’s photos and videos without her knowledge.
In a surprising turn, the person behind the identity theft was “A”‘s own mother. She admitted to her actions, saying she felt “lonely.” She also stated that she found out about the dating app through “A”‘s mother-in-law.
In her statement, “A”‘s mother said,
I signed up for the dating app, but no one contacted me. So I uploaded a photo of my daughter-in-law, and the calls flooded in. I actually found a man who wanted to meet me, so we made plans to meet and sent him photos and videos of my daughter-in-law.
She blamed her husband for his lack of attention, explaining, “I thought I could stop doing it, but I couldn’t. I wanted to be loved, too.” After these revelations, “A”‘s mother left home, as she could not face her family.
