Kim Ji Yeon and Jang Se Hyuk are walking straight into danger in the latest episodes of “Dive Into You.” The two play twins Yoon Ha Na and Yoon Ha Ru, who travel back in time to save Park Seo Ham‘s character, Jung Woo Jae. Episode 3 shows them heading to a loan shark’s hideout to negotiate for Woo Jae’s safety. The same episode also takes them back to the awards ceremony where Woo Jae died.
The Channel A fantasy romance premiered on September 26 and streams on Disney+ and Rakuten Viki. It has become a top show on Viki internationally, even as domestic cable ratings remain modest.
A Second Chance to Save a Loved One
Ha Na is a top actress dealing with emotional numbness. Woo Jae works as her bodyguard and is also her first love. Neither has told the other how they feel. A stalker attacks Ha Na at an awards ceremony, and Woo Jae dies protecting her.
The twins find an old camcorder that lets them travel to the past. A car accident sends them into the water, and they wake up in 2010 — but their souls have swapped. Ha Na is inside Ha Ru’s body, and Ha Ru is inside Ha Na’s body.
Dramabeans described the show as “Lovely Runner meets Secret Garden.” The review said the drama piles on tropes but has “the potential for a cult hit.” The first episode opened in 2010 with Ha Na filming her brother and Woo Jae at a judo competition. Ha Ru won the gold medal and teased Woo Jae about it. The story then jumped to the present, where Ha Ru had become an international judo star and Woo Jae had left the sport to become Ha Na’s bodyguard.
The drama is directed by So Jae-hyun and written by Kim Bo-geum and Lee On. It runs for 12 episodes on Channel A.
Loan Shark Negotiation in Episode 3
Episode 3 airs on October 3 at 10:40 p.m. KST. New stills show the twins inside the loan sharks’ lair. Ha Na — currently in Ha Ru’s body — looks nervous at the loan shark boss’s confident smile. Ha Ru — in Ha Na’s body — shows no fear. Woo Jae sits with his head down, looking grim.
Kim Joon Hyun plays the loan shark boss. In episode 2, the twins learned Woo Jae’s father pushed his debts onto him. They watched loan sharks chase Woo Jae. Woo Jae quit judo and vanished without a trace.
The twins also return to the day of the awards ceremony. Ha Na must survive the attack she knows is coming. A mysterious figure in a helmet appears in the crowd. Ha Ru waits behind the venue to catch the culprit and gets into a physical fight with a suspect.
Moon Seung Yoo plays Son Ye Rang, the CEO of Ye Rang Entertainment and Ha Ru’s girlfriend. She built Ha Na into a top star.
