Brad Pitt is teaming up with David Fincher for a new Netflix movie. The film will bring back Pitt’s character Cliff Booth from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Now, two more stars have joined the project—Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki.
The movie is still untitled, but it will continue Cliff Booth’s story years after the events of the first film. Tarantino wrote the script but decided not to direct it. Pitt convinced him to let Fincher take over. The project is moving fast, with filming set to begin in California this July.
Scott Caan is known for his role in Hawaii Five-0 and the Ocean’s Eleven movies, where he worked with Pitt before. Elizabeth Debicki played Princess Diana in The Crown and starred in films like Tenet and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Their exact roles in the new movie are still unknown.
The story might include details from Tarantino’s 2021 novel, which gave more background on Cliff Booth, including the death of his wife. However, it’s unclear how much of the book will be in the film. Reports say the script has two major female roles—a bar owner who runs a mud wrestling venue and a trophy wife.
Netflix has not officially confirmed the casting yet. The project is being kept very secret, with one source saying, “This film is more secretive than Star Wars.” Fans are excited to see Pitt return as Cliff Booth, a role that won him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
This will be Fincher’s third movie with Netflix after Mank and The Killer. He and Pitt have worked together before on classics like Fight Club and Se7en. Tarantino, known for directing his own scripts, has also written films for other directors, like True Romance and From Dusk Till Dawn.
Debicki was recently seen in MaXXXine, a horror movie set in old Hollywood. Caan currently stars in Alert: Missing Persons Unit. Both actors are represented by CAA, with Caan also managed by Linden Entertainment and Sloane Offer.
