Actress Park Gyu Young has finally addressed the accidental spoiler she shared about Squid Game 3, revealing whether she faced any financial penalties for the mistake. The incident involved a now-deleted social media post that unintentionally exposed Lee Jin Wookโ€™s role in the upcoming season.

The Accidental Spoiler That Shocked Fans

In June 2025, Park Gyu Young posted a behind-the-scenes photo on her Instagram featuring co-star Lee Jin Wook in a pink soldier uniform. This confirmed his return as Park Gyeong Seok (Player 246) in Squid Game 3, a detail Netflix had not officially announced. The post was quickly deleted, but not before fans screenshotted and shared it widely.

The spoiler caused a stir online, with many fans expressing frustration over the reveal. Some even speculated that Park Gyu Young might face legal consequences or a hefty fine from Netflix for breaking confidentiality agreements.

Park Gyu Youngโ€™s Apology and Reactions from the Team

During a recent interview with Sports Chosun, Park Gyu Young opened up about the incident. She admitted feeling guilty and disappointed in herself for the mistake.

“Over the past few months, I feel like Iโ€™ve shown a disappointing side of myself. Some of you may have felt let down,” she said.

She explained that she waited to address the issue publicly to avoid further negative impact on the show. Immediately after the post went viral, she personally apologized to director Hwang Dong Hyuk and Lee Jin Wook.

“The director told me, โ€˜Letโ€™s make sure something like this never happens again.โ€™ Lee Jin Wook was very understanding,” she shared.

Was There Really a Penalty Fee?

Rumors suggested that Park Gyu Young had to pay a large penalty fee for the spoiler. However, she clarified that no such fine was imposed.

“I canโ€™t speak in detail about contract matters, but rather than focusing on penalties, the emphasis was more on making sure nothing like this happens again,” she stated.

She also denied reports about a massive fee, saying:

“There were some guidelines to be careful about revealing things from the set, but there was no mention of a penalty fee, and I want to be careful about how I say that [to avoid being misunderstood].”

Fan Reactions and Whatโ€™s Next for Squid Game 3

While some fans were upset about the spoiler, many appreciated Park Gyu Youngโ€™s honesty and apology.

“Mistakes happen, and she handled it with grace. Canโ€™t wait to see her and Lee Jin Wook in Season 3!” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).
