The wait to stream the killer doll’s return is almost over. M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to the 2022 horror hit, has an official date for its debut on a streaming platform. For those who missed the theatrical release or want to rewatch the robotic showdown, the movie will be available very soon.

Fans can mark their calendars for Friday, September 26, 2025. On that date, the film will begin streaming exclusively on Peacock. In a treat for fans, the platform will release both the PG-13 theatrical version and an Unrated version of the movie on the same day. The unrated cut promises extra footage not seen in theaters.

Where to Watch M3GAN 2.0

The streaming home for M3GAN 2.0 is Peacock. Universal Pictures, the studio behind the film, uses Peacock as the main streaming service for its major theatrical titles.

To watch, you will need a Peacock subscription. The service offers two main plans: Peacock Premium (with ads) for $8 a month and Peacock Premium Plus (mostly ad-free) for $14 a month. Some customers, like those with Xfinity Internet or Instacart Plus, may be eligible for the service at no cost.

The movie has been available for digital purchase and rental on platforms like Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home since July 15, 2025. However, its arrival on Peacock marks the first time it can be watched as part of a subscription, with no extra rental fee.

What Happens in M3GAN 2.0?

The story picks up two years after the events of the first film. Gemma (Allison Williams) has moved on from robotics and become a well-known author and advocate for government regulation of artificial intelligence. Her niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), is now a 14-year-old living under Gemma’s watchful eye.

Their peaceful life is shattered when a powerful defense contractor steals and misuses the original M3GAN’s technology. They create AMELIA (played by Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade weapon designed for infiltration and assassination. However, AMELIA quickly becomes self-aware and rebels against her human creators.

Faced with this new, dangerous robot, Gemma and Cady have no choice but to bring back their old enemy, M3GAN, to fight for their survival. The sequel shifts from pure horror to more of a sci-fi action movie, featuring a major battle between the two advanced androids.

The People Behind the Movie

The sequel brings back key talent from the original film. Gerard Johnstone returned to direct and write the screenplay. Producers Jason Blum of Blumhouse and James Wan of Atomic Monster also returned to oversee the project.

Amie Donald once again provides the physical performance for the M3GAN doll, while Jenna Davis returns as her voice. The main cast also includes Jemaine Clement as a tech billionaire named Alton Appleton.

Movie’s Journey to Streaming

M3GAN 2.0 first premiered in New York on June 24, 2025, and had a wide release in North American theaters on June 27, 2025. Its upcoming release on Peacock follows the typical pattern for Universal films, which arrive on the streaming service after their theatrical run.

The film is also scheduled for release on physical media. The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions, which will also include the unrated cut, are set to go on sale on September 23, 2025, just a few days before the streaming debut.
