Actor Harriet Slater, who plays Ellen, clarified the status of her character’s relationship, noting, “they’re not married, married, they’re handfast which is like an engagement. They have a year and a day from that moment to get married so still in the eyes of the world, she’s an unmarried woman.”
Hermione Corfield, who plays Julia, hinted at a more positive turn for her character, teasing that by the end of the series, “Julia is in a hopeful place and things are looking like they could be going in the right direction.”
