Netflix has released the first full trailer for its upcoming Korean superhero drama Cashero, giving viewers a detailed look at the high-stakes, cash-powered action. The series confirms its global release date for December 26, 2025. Starring Lee Jun-ho, the show presents a uniquely relatable superhero whose strength is directly tied to his personal finances, forcing him to calculate the real cost of every heroic act.

What Is the Story of Cashero?

Cashero is based on a popular Kakao Webtoon and follows the life of Kang Sang-woong, played by Lee Jun-ho. He is an ordinary civil servant with modest dreams of homeownership whose life is turned upside down when he develops a superpower with a major catch: his physical strength is proportional to the amount of physical cash he has on him. Every punch or display of power literally costs him money, draining his savings as he tries to do good.

Sang-woong is not alone in his struggles. He is approached by Byeon Ho-in, a lawyer who leads a secret Korean organization for people with supernatural abilities. Ho-in’s own power activates only when he consumes alcohol. They are joined by Bang Eun-mi, a young woman with telekinetic abilities fueled entirely by her calorie intake. Together, this unlikely team must protect their normal lives and defend ordinary people from a mysterious group known as the “Criminal Association,” which is actively hunting superheroes. Standing by Sang-woong’s side is his longtime girlfriend, Kim Min-sook, a pragmatic and numbers-smart woman who supports him despite the glaring inefficiency of his expensive power.

Who Is in the Cast and What Are Their Powers?

The series brings together a standout cast of Korean actors, each with a distinctly quirky superpower tied to everyday resources.

  • Lee Jun-ho as Kang Sang-woong: The protagonist is a civil servant whose super-strength fluctuates with his cash holdings. Lee Jun-ho is widely known for his leading roles in hit series like King the Land and The Red Sleeve.
  • Kim Hye-jun as Kim Min-sook: She plays Sang-woong’s realistic and financially savvy girlfriend, who uses her sharp mind to manage the budget for his heroics.
  • Kim Byung-chul as Byeon Ho-in: He portrays a lawyer and the head of a superhero coalition whose abilities are triggered by drinking alcohol. Kim Byung-chul is recognized for his roles in All of Us Are Dead and Doctor Cha.
  • Kim Hyang-gi as Bang Eun-mi: Her character is a telekinetic hero whose powers are directly linked to her calorie consumption, often relying on pastries and bread for energy.

The supporting cast includes Kang Han-na as Joanna, the daughter of a wealthy family, and Lee Chae-min in a role named Jonathan. The series is directed by Lee Chang-min and written by Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho.

When and Where Can You Watch Cashero?

Cashero is scheduled for a worldwide premiere exclusively on Netflix on Thursday, December 26, 2025. The series will consist of eight episodes. It positions itself as a major year-end release for the streaming platform, offering a fresh and humorous twist on the superhero genre.

Filming for the series began in December 2023 and wrapped in late 2024, and the project is now in its final post-production stage. The first official trailer and poster were released on December 1, 2025, highlighting Sang-woong’s central conflict between protecting his wallet and protecting people.
