Episode 13 of Nice to Not Meet You showed star actor Hyun-joon facing pressure from his work and his feelings for journalist Jeong-sin. The episode, which aired on December 22, moved the characters toward a major moment.
In this episode, Im Hyun-joon, played by Lee Jung-jae, deals with problems caused by his mother on set while trying to get closer to Wi Jeong-sin, played by Lim Ji-yeon. His efforts lead to a significant confession in front of her brother. Meanwhile, Jeong-sin struggles with her own worries about their different lives.
The episode starts right where the last one ended. Jeong-sin had asked to meet Hyun-joon after learning he was the person she knew online as “Melomaster”. Before they could talk, Hyun-joon got a panicked call from his manager, Mr. Hwang.
Mr. Hwang told him his mother, Ae-suk, had caused trouble on the drama set. Reports say she had a physical fight with a fellow actress named Mi-ran. This news caused Hyun-joon to have a panic attack in the restaurant. Jeong-sin helped calm him down by taking him outside, showing care for his well-being.
Later, Jeong-sin researched panic disorder online, worried about Hyun-joon. Her colleague, Hwa-young, saw this and guessed Jeong-sin was involved with an actor. Hwa-young warned that such relationships between a star and an ordinary person are difficult.
The production team stated, “Episode 13 airing today will portray Wi Jeong Sin’s hesitation as her relationship with Lim Hyeon Jun develops.”
Meanwhile, Hyun-joon went to the set to handle his mother’s fight. His mother refused to apologize, claiming she was just acting. The situation stopped production and added to Hyun-joon’s stress.
In an attempt to spend time with Jeong-sin, Hyun-joon used a clever trick. Jeong-sin visited the offices of Kingsback Entertainment for a work reason. Hyun-joon happened to be there and used a new, unreleased script for his show, “Good Detective Kang Pil Gu,” to get her to stay.
He let her read the secret script, which successfully made her curious. When they were alone, Hyun-joon directly asked Jeong-sin if she was avoiding him because he is a famous actor and she is a journalist. He told her to think about what she really wants.
Back on set, Hyun-joon faced another issue. He had to film a romantic scene, including a kiss, with his co-star Se-na. He clearly did not want to do it and tried to avoid the kiss. He later told Se-na he is seeing someone else.
One of the biggest moments happened at Hyun-joon’s home. He invited Jeong-sin’s brother, Hong-sin, and his own brother, Seon-u, over. His goal was to impress Hong-sin so he would say good things about him to Jeong-sin.
They drank together, and Hyun-joon, in a tipsy state, confessed his feelings for Jeong-sin right in front of her brother. Hong-sin was thrilled and immediately called his sister to come pick him up, creating a chance for them to meet.
When Jeong-sin arrived, Hyun-joon was direct. He told her he has liked her for a long time. He then made a specific request: he asked her to go on ten dates with him. This was his way of asking for a chance to prove his feelings are real.
Jeong-sin was flustered and left quickly, but she could not stop thinking about him. Later, they exchanged text messages where they both seemed to admit they like each other.

The episode also moved other stories forward. Hwa-young asked Jae-hyeong for a personal favor—to act as a father figure for her son at a kindergarten event. During this, Jae-hyeong saw a childhood photo and realized he might be the boy’s real father.
A serious plotline involving corruption also advanced. Hwa-young gave Jeong-sin evidence that a powerful man named Lee Dae-ho was responsible for a past car accident that hurt Jae-hyeong. Dae-ho found out the women were investigating him and made threatening plans.
The episode ended with a dangerous scene. Jeong-sin was walking home at night, and Hyun-joon was in his car on the way to a shoot. Two black cars suddenly sped toward each of them, creating a cliffhanger.

The series is scheduled to have 16 episodes in total. Episode 14 aired on December 23. The final two episodes, Episode 15 and Episode 16, are set to be released on December 29 and December 30, 2025, respectively.
