Lux Pascal has finally made her debut in a Ryan Murphy production, and her famous brother could not be happier about it. The 33-year-old actress joined the cast of the FX thriller series The Beauty in episode 6, which aired on February 11, 2026. In a new interview, Lux opened up about landing the role of Clara, her dream of working with Murphy, and the adorable way her brother Pedro Pascal reacted when she got the news.
Lux has been acting for years, appearing in Chilean TV shows and movies, and even sharing the screen with her brother in Narcos. But joining a Ryan Murphy project was a personal milestone she had been chasing for a while. When she finally booked the part, Pedro, 50, was just as excited as she was.

For Lux, telling her older brother about her casting on The Beauty was a moment she will never forget. She knew he would understand just how much it meant to her.
“Oh my God. When I told him, he was so excited. He knows how big of a fan I am of Ryan Murphy. So, I was just over the roof and he was over the roof for me,” Lux shared with People magazine .
She recalled Pedro’s exact words when she broke the news. He did not just offer a simple congratulations; he reminded her that this was a goal she had been working toward for years.
“He was like, ‘Oh my God. This is one of the dreams you’ve had. You finally made it happen.’ And I was like, ‘Well, yes,’” Lux said .
The exchange highlights the incredibly close bond the siblings share. Pedro has always been one of Lux’s biggest supporters, both personally and professionally. In the past, Lux has described how Pedro “always showed up” for her, even when they lived in different countries growing up. She also mentioned that “we protect each other very much,” showing that their relationship is a two-way street of love and support .
Chasing a Dream: Landing a Role in Ryan Murphy’s Universe
Getting cast in The Beauty was not just another job for Lux; it was the fulfillment of a long-held ambition. She has been a fan of the prolific producer’s work for as long as she can remember.
“I was really excited because this is my first time being a part of a show that is produced by Ryan Murphy. I’ve always been captivated by his vision throughout all the things he does,” Lux explained .
The road to getting there, however, involved some persistence. Lux revealed that she had been auditioning for various Murphy shows for some time before finding the perfect fit.
“I had been auditioning for a lot of his shows and finally this one was the right fit and I was just, like, so, so excited,” she said .
The show itself drew her in with its unique and dark concept. The Beauty is a body horror thriller that follows FBI agents investigating a mysterious sexually transmitted virus that makes people physically perfect but ultimately kills them. Lux was immediately hooked by the premise.
“I was just enthralled by the story of this virus that makes people beautiful, but it’s also lethal,” she told People, explaining her interest in the show’s concept .
Clara’s Story: A ‘Fairytale’ Moment in a Horror Series
In episode 6, titled “Beautiful Patient Zero,” Lux plays Clara, a scientist working at the corporation of Ashton Kutcher’s character, Byron Frost. The episode flashes back to show how the dangerous transformation drug first escaped the lab. Clara, who is struggling with her gender transition, is initially hesitant to take the drug, fearing it might not recognize her true self .
Lux, who is a transgender woman herself, found deep personal meaning in the role. Her character’s journey resonated with her on a profound level. Unlike the violent and gooey transformations seen in other episodes, Clara’s change is peaceful and euphoric. She simply wakes up in bed and sees her true self in the mirror for the first time.
“It’s kind of beautiful that someone gets this gift without the hardship because this person has had a hard enough time in her life,” Lux told People about her character’s unique transformation .
She described the moment as a “fairytale” within the often-gruesome series.
“I just understand the level of longing that Clara must have been experiencing. Then, to kind of just wake up as this vision that she’s dreamed of herself being, I can understand that. It makes sense because, from what I can tell, this is a little bit like a fairytale,” she explained .
Her performance clearly left a mark on the show’s creator. Lux shared that Ryan Murphy personally reached out to her after watching the edits of her episode.
“He texted me this beautiful, heartfelt message โ and it was so funny because I was having such a hard day that day, and that just turned it completely around. I was like, ‘Hey nothing else matters,’” Lux recalled .

The Pascal siblings have often spoken publicly about their support for one another. Pedro, known for his roles in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, has been a vocal ally for the LGBTQ+ community and has always stood by his sister. When Lux publicly came out as a transgender woman in 2021, Pedro shared her magazine cover story on Instagram with a loving caption that translated to, “My sister, my heart, our Lux” .
In a 2025 interview, Lux addressed the common question of whether Pedro is truly as kind as he appears to be in public. Her answer was a resounding yes.
“It’s funny because people have been asking me, ‘Is he as kind as we think he is?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes!’” Lux said. She added that her brother “wears all of his humanity on his sleeve” and taught her that “there’s no reason for me to hide who I am” .
