But creator Gege Akutami intended to mislead readers. The aliens turned out to be like humans simply needing a place to belong. Through everything they stayed true to themselves and found a way to live alongside humans thanks to Yuji Itadori and Maru removing the barriers between both races.
Chapter 24 will likely show how this change affects both groups. A short time jump could happen to show humans and Simurians working together and enjoying life. The Simurians might even help rebuild Tokyo which has sat abandoned for a very long time giving both races another reason to stay close.

When Gege Akutami first returned for the sequel he told fans it would be short. He described it as a very short intensely compact serialization lasting about six months and filling three volumes worth of chapters. With the first volume covering seven chapters and the math working out evenly the series looks set to end with 25 chapters on March 8, 2026 if the schedule holds.
