What Happened in Chapter 23

The previous chapter set up major changes in the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo world. Chapter 23 confirmed that cursed energy cannot be completely erased from existence. Yuji Itadori and Maru reached an important conclusion. Since cursed energy comes from negative human emotions, it will always find a way to return no matter what.

The solution they found was a compromise. The plan involves reducing cursed energy globally while also reshaping how souls flow through Earth. This reorganization of what the story calls soul colors aims to minimize the birth of cursed spirits. The goal shifted from eliminating curses to drastically lowering how often they appear.

Dabura was removed from the fight against Mahoraga and asked to return home. This ended the battle without a clear winner. The real turning point came when Maru joined by Cross, Yuka, and Tsurugi performed the ritual of harmony. Souls began to scatter over Tokyo suggesting that something fundamental had shifted in the world.

The ritual wiped out cursed souls to the maximum extent possible. While cursed souls will still come into existence their numbers will be incredibly low. The nature of those souls also changed so they are no longer viewed as different from good souls which was the core problem all along.

What to Expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 24

JJK Modulo Chapter 24 carries a lot of weight as the story moves toward its finale. Several major plot points need attention.

Humans and Simurians coming together stands as the biggest focus. The Simurians arrived on Earth looking for a home and were almost shown as villains early on. But creator Gege Akutami intended to mislead readers. The aliens turned out to be like humans simply needing a place to belong. Through everything they stayed true to themselves and found a way to live alongside humans thanks to Yuji Itadori and Maru removing the barriers between both races.

Chapter 24 will likely show how this change affects both groups. A short time jump could happen to show humans and Simurians working together and enjoying life. The Simurians might even help rebuild Tokyo which has sat abandoned for a very long time giving both races another reason to stay close.

Yuka and Tsurugi also need attention. Yuka was dying but recovered from Maru curse technique in the previous chapter. The siblings can now reunite in what should be an emotional moment. Rika ring will probably be handed to Yuka for the first time. At the same time Cross and Maru might finally connect on a deeper level since they could not see eye to eye at the beginning of the series.

Dabura story continues as well. He was sent back to Simuria thanks to Maru curse technique which saved Yuka life. Dabura also received the Black Rope meaning his sister is now free from the curse placed on her. In Chapter 24 Dabura will likely return to Simuria and meet with the Elders. After being forced to kill his own friend and leave the planet to save his sister he may have revenge on his mind and could attack Deskunte to establish control.

Yuji Itadori finally accepting his new role is another key element. He may reunite with Nobara and other old friends. For a long time Yuji seemed unsure about what to do with the life ahead of him. With cursed energy greatly reduced and the conflict between humans and Simurians settled Yuji has accepted his role of caring for the new generation. He wants to set the course for others to handle whatever cursed spirits appear when he dies 300 years from now.

The Series Nearing Its End

Recent updates from Shueisha suggest that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is wrapping up soon. The series will feature three weeks of consecutive color pages for Chapters 23, 24, and 25. This is unusual and typically signals that a series is ending.

When Gege Akutami first returned for the sequel he told fans it would be short. He described it as a very short intensely compact serialization lasting about six months and filling three volumes worth of chapters. With the first volume covering seven chapters and the math working out evenly the series looks set to end with 25 chapters on March 8, 2026 if the schedule holds.

The story itself feels like it is heading for its finale. With Yuji Itadori back in the center of the action now basically a god decades after the original series ended all the biggest pieces are in place for the conclusion.

Background on Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

The story centers on an alien race called the Simurians who arrive on Earth looking for a new home. Their envoy Maru gets sent to Japan the center of Cursed Energy to show they come in peace. To explore whether humans and Simurians can coexist Maru works with jujutsu sorcerers Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu who are the grandchildren of Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu.
