The Netflix sports comedy Running Point brings together a mix of movie stars, sitcom favorites, and rising talents. The show, which streams now on Netflix, follows Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, who suddenly takes charge of her family’s basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves.

Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon
Kate Hudson takes her first leading television role as Isla Gordon, the unexpected president of the Waves. The character is loosely based on Jeanie Buss, the real-life president of the Los Angeles Lakers.
For movie fans, Hudson is a familiar name. She received an Oscar nomination for her performance as Penny Lane in Almost Famous (2000) and won a Golden Globe for the same role. Her other well-known films include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. She also serves as an executive producer on Running Point.
Brenda Song as Ali Lee
Brenda Song plays Ali Lee, Isla’s best friend and chief of staff for the Waves. Ali is the steady hand helping Isla manage the chaos of running a basketball team.
Millions of viewers grew up watching Song as London Tipton in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck. She also starred in the Disney Channel movie Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. More recently, she appeared in Dollface and Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl.
Justin Theroux as Cam Gordon
Justin Theroux portrays Cam Gordon, Isla’s older brother who steps down as team president and names Isla as his successor.
Theroux starred in The Leftovers on HBO and had a major role in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. He has also appeared in The Girl on the Train and Mulholland Drive. For Season 2, Theroux becomes a series regular after appearing in a recurring role in Season 1.
Scott MacArthur as Ness Gordon
Scott MacArthur plays Ness Gordon, one of Isla’s brothers who serves as the general manager of the Waves.
He is best known for his role as Jimmy Shepherd on the Fox comedy series The Mick. MacArthur has also appeared in The Righteous Gemstones, No Hard Feelings, and Killing It. He has worked as a writer on both The Mick and The Righteous Gemstones as well.
Drew Tarver as Sandy Gordon
Drew Tarver takes on the role of Sandy Gordon, Isla’s younger half-brother and the team’s chief financial officer.
Tarver starred in the HBO Max comedy series The Other Two, which earned him critical praise. He also appeared in Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ and Netflix’s Unfrosted.
Fabrizio Guido as Jackie Moreno
Fabrizio Guido plays Jackie Moreno, the youngest Gordon sibling who was recently discovered as their late father’s son.
Guido previously starred in Mr. Iglesias on Netflix alongside Gabriel Iglesias. He has also appeared in Perry Mason and The Garcias.
Chet Hanks as Travis Bugg
Chet Hanks portrays Travis Bugg, a talented but problematic point guard for the Waves who brings drama to the team.
Hanks is the oldest son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. His acting credits include Empire, Your Honor, and the film The Penguin.
Toby Sandeman as Marcus Winfield
Toby Sandeman plays Marcus Winfield, the long-time star player of the Waves who helps keep the team together.

Max Greenfield as Lev Levy
Max Greenfield stars as Lev Levy, Isla’s fiancé who works as a pediatrician.
Greenfield is widely recognized for playing Schmidt on the hit sitcom New Girl. He also stars as Dave in The Neighborhood alongside Beth Behrs.
Jay Ellis as Jay Brown
Jay Ellis plays Jay Brown, the head coach of the Waves who finds himself in a complicated situation with Isla.
Ellis starred as Lawrence in the HBO series Insecure. He also appeared in Somebody I Used to Know and had a role in Top Gun: Maverick.
Scott Evans as Charlie
Scott Evans portrays Charlie, Sandy’s boyfriend who works as a dog groomer.
Evans is the younger brother of Chris Evans. He appeared in Barbie, Grace and Frankie, and One Life to Live.

New recurring cast members for Season 2 include Ray Romano as Norm Stinson, a veteran basketball coach, and Ken Marino as Al Fleischman. Tommy Dewey, Richa Moorjani, Jake Picking, and Blake Anderson have also joined the cast.
The show, created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, earned a 79% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes for its first season. Season 2 will stream on Netflix starting April 23.
