Netflix is bringing back its award-winning show Beef for a second season, and this time the story is moving from the road to a fancy country club. The streaming service just dropped the first official poster and confirmed that Beef Season 2 will start streaming on April 16, 2026. The new season features a completely fresh cast and a new kind of conflict.
Creator Lee Sung Jin decided to change the setting entirely for this anthology series. The first season focused on a road rage incident between two strangers. The second season explores a more quiet but just as tense fight between two couples inside an exclusive club. The new story follows a younger couple who get pulled into the problems of their older bosses.
What is the Plot of Beef Season 2?
The official logline for Beef Season 2 describes a tense situation at a place called Monte Vista Point, a country club owned by a Korean billionaire. A newly engaged Gen-Z couple named Ashley Miller and Austin Davis work as lower-level staff at this club. They accidentally witness a serious fight between their manager, Joshua Martín, and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín.
After seeing this fight, both couples get caught up in a dangerous game. They start using favors and pressure to try and win the approval of the club’s powerful owner, Chairwoman Park. Creator Lee Sung Jin explained that he wanted the conflict in Beef Season 2 to feel different from the first season. He described the new conflict as more “passive-aggressive” and focused on the hidden anger people feel at work. The season will have eight episodes, and each one will run for about 30 minutes.
Who Stars in the New Cast of Beef Season 2?
The cast for Beef Season 2 is packed with big names. Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan play the older couple, Joshua and Lindsay. Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny play the younger couple, Austin and Ashley. The show also includes two famous Korean actors. Youn Yuh-jung, who won an Academy Award for Minari, plays Chairwoman Park. Song Kang-ho, known for his role in Parasite, plays her second husband, Dr. Kim.
Creator Lee Sung Jin said about working with Finneas: “He has an incredible ability to make the darkest emotions sound so achingly beautiful.”
Cailee Spaeny recently told Deadline that the new season is just as intense as the first one. She said the conflict in Beef Season 2 is a fight between couples from different generations. The rest of the cast includes William Fichtner as Troy, Mikaela Hoover as Ava, and K-pop star BM (from the group KARD) making his acting debut as Woosh, the tennis coach.
