The latest episode of Will Trent threw everyone into a high-pressure hospital nightmare. Season 4 Episode 14, titled “A Flag in the Mud,” aired on ABC on April 7, 2026. The hour mixed a tense hostage situation with a dangerous drug dealer and ended with a phone call that changes everything for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) special agent.
A Routine Trip Turns Dangerous
Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez) took his young friend Nico (Cora Lu Tran) to the emergency room after she cut herself on a mandoline slicer. At the hospital, he ran into Angie (Erika Christensen) and her husband Dr. Seth (Scott Foley) , who were there for a regular maternity checkup. What started as a normal visit quickly became a life-or-death situation.
A patient’s mother named Mekia grew angry because doctors were not moving fast enough to treat her son Kevin. She grabbed a security guard’s gun, shot a doctor named Dr. Chambliss in the leg, and took the whole waiting room hostage. Her demand was simple but scary. Nobody leaves until her son gets help.
Will Takes Control Inside
Instead of running, Will stepped directly into danger. He kept Mekia’s gun pointed at himself so she would not hurt others. He talked to her calmly while the medical team worked to save Kevin. Angie and Dr. Seth treated the wounded doctor and kept other patients safe during the standoff.
Outside the hospital, Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) and Franklin (Kevin Daniels) worked the case from a different angle. They looked into how Kevin got shot in the first place. Their investigation led them to a drug dealer named Osiris. This young dealer wanted to prove himself on the streets, so he shot Kevin. The team realized Osiris was likely coming to the hospital to finish the job.
The Elevator Fight Turns Bloody
The situation got worse when Kevin needed emergency vascular surgery. A pair of war reenactors outside set off a cannon by mistake, which brought every SWAT team in the area to the hospital. The chaos gave Osiris the chance to sneak inside.
Osiris waited for Kevin in the elevator with a knife. Will fought him, and Dr. Seth jumped in to help. Seth used Kevin’s IV line to choke the attacker. Ormewood also ran in to join the fight. Even with three people fighting him, Osiris was tough. He stabbed Seth in the arm and cut Ormewood’s leg before the team finally stopped him.
Everyone survived. Seth and Ormewood were treated for their wounds. Kevin made it through surgery, and his mother Mekia went to jail knowing her son was safe.
A Terrifying Call Ends the Night
Right when things seemed to settle down, Will got the phone call he had been waiting for. Adelaide (Mallory Jansen) , the woman connected to his missing uncle Antonio (John Ortiz) , finally reached out.
“Hello, Will. How are you? I missed you. Isn’t that strange?” – Adelaide to Will
Will immediately asked where his uncle was. Adelaide told him to ask the right question instead. When Will asked “What do you want?” she said she wanted many things. She mentioned the jungle, referring to the time they spent together in a past case. Will warned her that the only thing he thinks about is finding her. That is when Adelaide dropped the biggest news. She said she is coming to Atlanta to see him. But she added a threat. If Will tells anyone about this call, she will hurt his uncle badly.
