Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has officially announced his wedding plans with partner Gauri Spratt. The actor confirmed that the couple will tie the knot on July 5, 2026, in a small ceremony at his Mumbai residence. The wedding will be a private affair with only close family members and a few friends in attendance.

Aamir made the announcement while speaking to the media at the screening of Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam and Pedro in Mumbai. The actor shared details about the intimate celebration and asked for everyone’s blessings as he begins this new chapter.

“Haan meri shaadi ho rahi hai July 5 ko aur bahut hi choti shaadi hai, ghar mein hi kar rahe hain. 5 ko bahut hi khaas din hai humare liye aur bas dono families hain, kuch khaas dost hain, chota sa ghar pe hi kar rahe hain hum log. Aur sabki duaen chahenge hum.”

The actor also shared that the wedding will be a simple home ceremony. He mentioned that both families and a few close friends will be part of the celebration.

Wedding to Take Place at Aamir Khan’s Bandra Residence

The wedding ceremony will be held at Aamir Khan’s Bandra home in Mumbai. According to reports, the marriage will be registered at the actor’s residence during the first half of the day. The couple has decided against hosting a grand reception or any large-scale celebration.

The guest list is expected to include around 150 people, mostly close family members. Some relatives are also flying in from abroad to attend the occasion. Reports suggest that Aamir personally hand-delivered wedding invitations to the guests.

Aamir confirmed that the couple wanted to keep the ceremony small and meaningful. He said the date July 5 holds special significance for them.

Aamir Khan’s Children to Play Important Role in Wedding

One of the special aspects of the ceremony is the involvement of their children. Sources suggest that all four children from Aamir and Gauri’s previous marriages will play a meaningful role in the celebrations.

Aamir’s children โ€“ Junaid Khan, Ira Khan from his marriage to Reena Dutta, and Azad Rao Khan from his marriage to Kiran Rao โ€“ are expected to be part of the intimate ceremony. Gauri’s son from her previous marriage will also be present.

According to an India TV report, the wedding menu has been planned by the children. A source claimed that the entire menu was “curated and decided by their children”.

Who Is Gauri Spratt?

Gauri Spratt is originally from Bengaluru and has lived most of her life there. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who owned a salon in Bengaluru. According to her LinkedIn profile, Gauri studied at Blue Mountains School and completed a fashion course, FDA Styling & Photography, at the University of the Arts London in 2004.

She currently runs a BBlunt salon in Mumbai. Gauri is also the mother of a seven-year-old son. She is the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, the British-born communist who came to India in the 1920s and later became associated with India’s freedom movement.

Aamir and Gauri first met around 25 years ago through the actor’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan. They eventually lost touch but reconnected later, and their friendship turned into love. The actor publicly introduced Gauri as his girlfriend during his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025.

Aamir Khan Opens Up About His Relationship with Gauri Spratt

Speaking about Gauri in an interview with Navbharat Times, Aamir shared how happy he feels with her.

“I am very fortunate that I met Gauri, and our relationship started together. She is great, I feel at peace with her. Although my relationship with (ex-wives) Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta was also very deep, but things didn’t work out. When you asked, I felt that I am very blessed that Gauri entered my life. We are very happy together. Mujhe lagta hai ab jaake main mukammal hua hoon.”

The actor also mentioned in an earlier interview that he already feels married to Gauri emotionally and sees the ceremony as a natural step in their partnership.

A Look at Aamir Khan’s Previous Marriages

This will be Aamir Khan’s third marriage. He first married his childhood sweetheart Reena Dutta in a private ceremony in 1986. The couple have two children โ€“ son Junaid Khan, who has entered the film industry, and daughter Ira Khan, who is an advocate for mental-health awareness. They separated in 2002 after 16 years of marriage.

Aamir later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. The two met on the sets of the 2001 film Lagaan, where she worked as an assistant director. They announced their separation in 2021 after 16 years of marriage. They continue to co-parent their son Azad, whom they welcomed through surrogacy.

No Grand Reception or Star-Studded Guest List

Unlike many Bollywood weddings that turn into grand celebrations, Aamir and Gauri have chosen to keep things simple. Reports confirm there will be no red carpet, no grand reception, and no big guest list from the film industry.

The couple will reportedly register their marriage under the Special Marriage Act before holding a small family gathering at home. The ceremony is expected to take place during the first half of the day on July 5.

Aamir asked the media and his fans to bless the couple as they start their journey together.

“Please give us your blessings and pray that we stay happy and have a wonderful journey together. It’s going to be a very small, intimate affair at home, with only our families and a few old friends from our childhood in attendance.”
