The Korean drama Absolute Value of Romance just dropped two new episodes that turned the story upside down. A shy student’s secret writing hobby got exposed by the strictest teacher on campus. Instead of punishment, she received a very strange request.
Kim Hyang Gi (Yeo Eui-ju) spent weeks hiding her online novel from everyone. She wrote romantic stories based on her real-life teachers. But Ga Woo-su (Cha Hak Yeon) caught her in the act. The math teacher read her work and made a bold demand that changed their entire relationship.

Eui-ju’s Secret Writing Life Gets Exposed
Absolute Value of Romance follows Eui-ju, a high school student who struggles with math. Outside school, she writes a popular Boys Love (BL) novel online. The main characters in her story are her four teachers. Things got complicated when those same teachers moved into the house next door.
In episodes 5 and 6, Eui-ju attended an after-school math class taught by Woo-su. He pushed her hard with homework. She failed to complete the work. The teacher called her a lost cause and expressed disappointment. Eui-ju felt crushed, especially watching top students succeed around her.
She tried to escape the pressure by working on her novel’s third chapter. She hoped the new update would gain more readers. But her laptop screen did not stay hidden for long.
The major moment happened in the school library. Eui-ju typed happily on her laptop. Woo-su walked up from behind and read everything on the screen. He realized she wrote about the teachers. He spotted himself as a character named Joo Si-on, the math genius. He also identified Yoon Dong-ju as the literature student, Jeong Gi-jeon as the physical education student, and No Da-ju as the rich character.
Woo-su confronted her directly. He gave two choices: delete the story immediately or face her parents at school. Eui-ju panicked. She begged him to understand that writing was her dream. She worked on this novel for a long time and could not simply delete it.
The Math Teacher Makes an Unusual Demand
Woo-su did not get angry about the BL romance genre. He also did not mind being a character in the story. His problem was much simpler. He played a side role and wanted a promotion.
“Then write the story with me as the protagonist and let me check it every day.” – Ga Woo-su
He told Eui-ju that if she refused to delete the novel, she had to rewrite it with him as the main lead. He wanted to be the hero, not a supporting character. Eui-ju thought the demand was ridiculous. She tried to trick him by showing a fake edited version. But Woo-su found the real website and caught her lie.
With no other safe option, Eui-ju agreed to his deal. She started rewriting the chapters. Woo-su became very interested in the writing process. He read every chapter and gave her notes on what to fix. This unlikely deal turned their student-teacher relationship into a strange writing partnership.

Absolute Value of Romance continues to mix school pressure with romantic comedy elements. The new episodes cleared up Woo-su’s feelings about the glasses Eui-ju bought him. His friends noticed he started wearing them again. But he kept it a secret that the student returned them to him.
The show also introduced a fangirl companion for Eui-ju during a girls’ night. This made her feel less alone in her hobby. Subtle tension started to appear among the four teachers. Da-ju looked worried about something related to Woo-su. This hints that not everything is happy in the teachers’ lounge.
