The hit K-drama Agent Kim Reactivated delivered another action-packed episode on July 4, 2026. Episode 4 took viewers back to 1997 to reveal the main character’s painful origins. The episode also showed why the villain known as Golden Teeth holds such a deep grudge. The search for Min-ji reached a critical point with multiple dangerous groups closing in on her location.
The show continues to break records with each new episode. Episode 4 achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 21.6% according to Nielsen Korea. This makes Agent Kim Reactivated the highest-rated drama of any genre in South Korea for 2026. The series now ranks as the third highest-rated Friday-Saturday drama in SBS history.
Episode 4 Flashback: Kims Origin Story in North Korea
The episode opens with a flashback to 1997 at an orphanage in North Hamgyong Province, North Korea. Military officials visit the orphanage to recruit children for a special team. They promise the boys they will get enough food if they join. A hungry young boy volunteers after hearing this promise and encourages other boys to follow.
The recruitment process turns brutal. The children are forced into hand-to-hand combat fights where only the strongest survive. Park Yeon-gwang emerges as the last boy standing. Another boy named Kim barely survives after collapsing next to a soldier. Both boys are accepted into the program.
The training camp subjects the children to extreme conditions. They are beaten and conditioned until they forget their own names and identities. Trainees who cannot keep up are executed. Surprise attacks happen even at night to test their endurance. Only a handful of trainees survive the harsh program.
The survivors become known only by numbers. Kim receives the code name Agent 73. Park Yeon-gwang becomes Agent 66. The two emerge as the program’s strongest operatives. They are trained to infiltrate South Korea and carry out covert missions.
During a mission in Gangwon Province, an explosion seemingly kills Agent 66 while Agent 73 survives. North Korea brands Agent 73 a traitor and accuses him of murdering his partner. This hidden history explains why Agent 66’s younger brother has been hunting Kim and calls him a fake Agent 66.
The Truth Behind Golden Teeths Revenge
Episode 4 also reveals why Jun-dae, known as Golden Teeth, hates Gang-chan so much. The story goes back nine years to the Midu Apartments. Jun-dae worked as a cleaner at the building. Local residents started protesting a redevelopment project because workers like Jun-dae were not receiving fair wages.
One of Gang-chan’s men threw Jun-dae off the apartment building to remove obstacles. Jun-dae survived but suffered serious injuries. After recovering, he killed the man who pushed him and gathered support to challenge Gang-chan directly.
Jun-dae suffered another crushing defeat. Gang-chan stabbed him through the mouth, nearly leaving him unable to speak. He was forced to eat burning hot potatoes as punishment. He lost many of his teeth from the torture and replaced them with gold ones. This is how he earned the nickname Golden Teeth.
The Search for Min-ji Intensifies
Back in the present timeline, Kim continues his desperate search for his daughter Min-ji. He teams up with his old friends Sung Han-soo and Park Jin-cheol. The three work together to track down clues related to the kidnapping.
The trio finds a homeless man who picked up Min-ji’s phone. They secure crucial evidence including a white vehicle and the name Kim Sang-man. However, as they head toward the location from the tracking data, a sudden explosion overturns their vehicle.
Kim clings to the clue “Myeongpo Harbor” until the car flips. He escapes the scene through Han-soo’s deception. Han-soo pushes a gang member into the river below the bridge and jumps in himself. Park Jin-cheol chooses to surrender and get arrested to create a distraction.
Min-ji, who was presumed dead and sent to a freezer by a gang member, appears alive. She wakes up and attempts to escape captivity on her own. She shows she has inherited her father’s resilience. Min-ji runs directly into Golden Teeth while both Kim’s and Mr. Ju’s men close in on the same location.
Kim continues racing to Myeongpo Harbor, repeating “Min-ji, just stay alive” while forgetting his own wound. Park Kang-sung, the younger brother of Agent 66, also appears at the harbor. The tension reaches its peak with multiple threats converging on the same location.
