Netflix Korea used its 10th anniversary festival in Seoul to settle the biggest question hanging over All of Us Are Dead since 2022. Yoon Chan-young walked on stage with his co-stars and confirmed that Lee Cheong-san survived the Season 1 finale. The reveal closed a four-year debate among viewers. It did not come with a teaser, a first-look image, or a premiere date. The season remains listed as “coming soon” on Netflix, and the wait for a concrete launch window continues.

What the Netflix Korea Event Revealed

Netflix Korea held its two-day “Netflix Janchi” fan festival at Oil Tank Culture Park in Sangam-dong, Seoul, on October 24 and 25, 2026. The All of Us Are Dead cast closed the “What Next?” showcase, the final segment of the event’s livestream. Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon appeared together for the first time since Netflix renewed the series in June 2022.

Yoon addressed the crowd in character. The moment was translated by What’s on Netflix and shared across fan outlets.

“Everyone, do you remember Cheong-san? You may have thought I was dead, but I, Cheong-san, am still alive.” — Yoon Chan-young

Park Ji-hu responded in character as Nam On-jo.

“Cheong-san, you were alive. I was really worried you wouldn’t return, since you disappeared last season leaving so many questions unanswered.” — Park Ji-hu

Yoon replied with a line that drew a reaction from the crowd: “I missed you, On-jo.”

Why Cheong-san’s Fate Mattered So Much

Season 1 ended with Cheong-san dragging his attacker, Yoon Gwi-nam, into a burning building as military bombs fell on Hyosan High School. The two fell down an elevator shaft into the fire. His body was never recovered, and the show never confirmed whether he died in the blast or survived as a “hambie” — a half-human, half-zombie variant with healing abilities.

The ambiguity turned Cheong-san into one of Netflix’s longest-running cliffhangers. Netflix’s July 2025 cast announcement confirmed Yoon Chan-young was returning but avoided saying how. Director Lee Jae-kyu had also stayed vague, warning that a Cheong-san return could divide viewers.

“If season 1 was about humans surviving, season 2 will be about zombies surviving.” — Lee Jae-kyu, director

The Big Thing Netflix Left Out

No release date was announced at the festival or on Netflix’s social channels. No teaser trailer was shown. No first-look photos were released. The only release information attached to the season is the phrase “coming soon, only on Netflix.”

That silence mattered because fans had hoped the 10th anniversary event would deliver a launch window. The show headlined the festival’s closing showcase, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos named All of Us Are Dead Season 2 among the upcoming Korean titles in his remarks. The platform still did not date it.

Where Season 2 Picks Up

The story moves out of Hyosan High School and into Seoul. Nam On-jo is now a university student carrying the trauma of the outbreak. A new wave of infection hits the capital, and the survivors face a larger, more organised fight than the school siege.

Cho Yi-hyun‘s Choi Nam-ra remains a half-zombie wandering Hyosan City. Lomon‘s Lee Su-hyeok returns as an adult. The cast described the new season on stage.

“This season, we follow the stories of our friends who have grown into impressive college students and adults, and witness a larger-scale, more intense battle against zombies in the new setting of Seoul.” — Park Ji-hu

The Cast Returning and Joining

Four original leads return: Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon. Four new cast members join the official lineup:

  • Kim Si-eun as So Ju-ran
  • Roh Jae-won as Han Du-seok, a National Intelligence Service team leader
  • Yoon Ga-i as Lee Jong-a

Korean outlets have also reported Seo Ji-hoon and Kim Min among additional additions, though some roles remain undisclosed.

When All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Will Arrive

Filming wrapped in February 2026 after roughly seven months of production that began in July 2025. Post-production on visual effects is still underway, and the series was left off Netflix’s 2026 Korean slate. A 2027 premiere is the expected window, with January to February 2027 tracking closely with the first season’s late-January 2022 debut.

Netflix has not confirmed a date. A December 2026 release rumour has circulated online without official support.
