New teasers for Avengers: Doomsday are sparking conversation for an unexpected reason. The first teaser quickly reached 18 million views, but interest appears to have dropped with each subsequent video.

The fourth and most recent teaser has only gathered about 6 million views so far. While these numbers for the final teaser are still growing, the downward trend has caught the attention of fans and industry watchers. It comes as Marvel Studios slowly builds hype for its first Avengers film since 2019’s Endgame.

The studio’s marketing for the December 18, 2026 release has been methodical. It started with a massive cast reveal in March 2025 and has continued with these character-focused teasers. The campaign now includes a “Doomsday Clock” livestream on YouTube, ticking down the seconds until the film’s premiere. The next big moment is expected to be the debut of the first full-length trailer, which some analysts predict will arrive around February 8, 2026, during the Super Bowl.

The Four Teasers and Their Declining View Counts

Marvel Studios has released four brief teasers, each highlighting different characters returning for the massive crossover event. The videos were first shown in theaters before being released online.

  • Teaser 1: Steve Rogers/Captain America. This was the first look, confirming the return of Chris Evans. It showed Rogers in a rural setting and hinted at a significant life change, featuring a shot of him holding a baby.   • Teaser 4: Wakanda and The Fantastic Four. The final teaser showed a meeting between Wakanda’s Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Mโ€™Baku (Winston Duke) with Ben Grimm/The Thing from the Fantastic Four. As of now, this teaser has the lowest view count, sitting at roughly 6 million views.

The declining numbers have led to discussions online about “Marvel Cinematic Universe exhaustion” and whether the slow-drip marketing is building excitement or causing fatigue. Some fans have expressed a desire to see the main villain, Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who has yet to appear in any footage.

This method may be a response to recent years, where some fans felt overwhelmed by the volume of MCU content and disconnected from the overall story.

The next significant step will be the release of the first official trailer. Based on analysis of cryptic codes hidden in the teasers, many believe Marvel is targeting a Super Bowl Sunday premiere for the trailer on February 8, 2026. This trailer is expected to finally showcase Robert Downey Jr.‘s transformation into the iconic villain Doctor Doom, a reveal the studio has carefully saved.
