Supermodel Bella Hadid stunned viewers with her unexpected appearance in Yellowstone season 5, episode 13, portraying Sadie, the girlfriend of horse trainer Travis Wheatley. This cameo marked a departure from her usual realm of fashion, as she seamlessly blended into the Western drama series.
Bella Hadid’s character, Sadie, enters the scene when Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, visits Travis Wheatley’s Texas ranch. In their initial interaction, Sadie greets Beth with the sarcastic question, “You the masseuse?” to which Beth sharply responds, “Do I look like a f—ing masseuse?” Sadie quickly fires back, “A very expensive one.” This witty exchange set the tone for Sadie’s bold personality.
Beth travels to Texas with the goal of overseeing a high-stakes horse auction organized by Travis Wheatley, a role portrayed by the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. Upon arrival, Beth finds Travis in a game of strip poker with a group of people. Unimpressed, she orders him to head to the arena to focus on his buyers.
As the episode progresses, viewers witness a tense dynamic between Beth and Sadie. Curious about Sadie’s attraction to Travis, Beth asks, “What do you see in him?” Sadie responds, “You ever seen him ride before?” Beth later acknowledges Travis’s charisma after seeing his impressive performance during the auction, saying, “OK, yeah, I get it.”
Authentic Equestrian Skills
Bella Hadid’s real-life equestrian background significantly contributed to the authenticity of her portrayal. As an accomplished equestrian, Hadid has participated in numerous horse-riding competitions. In a recent social media post dated November 3, she shared a personal milestone, revealing that she rode three horses and qualified for seven finals, ultimately earning her first championship buckle.
This experience translated seamlessly on screen, as Hadid appeared confident and skilled while riding during the auction scene. Her familiarity with horse-riding complemented the show’s Western aesthetic, further enhancing the realism of her performance.
Perfectly Styled for the Western World
Hadid’s wardrobe for the role was carefully curated to align with the rugged style of Yellowstone. Her outfit included a cowboy hat, a ripped white tank top, oversized blue jeans secured with a large belt buckle, and a flannel shirt tied around her waist. This attention to detail ensured that Hadid’s character looked like an organic part of the series.
Additional Surprises in the Episode
Bella Hadid wasn’t the only notable guest star featured in this episode. Bart Johnson, known for his connection to actress Blake Lively as her brother-in-law, also appeared. His character attempted to flirt with Beth at a bar, during a scene where Beth was consoling Colby’s girlfriend, Teeter, during a girls’ night out.
Adding to the ambiance, the popular band Turnpike Troubadours performed during the live auction at the Yellowstone Ranch. Their music provided an authentic soundtrack, elevating the tension and drama of the scene.
Bella Hadid’s cameo and the additional guest appearances brought fresh energy to the series, offering fans a mix of humor, drama, and authenticity.
