Scam Left IU Deeply Hurt
During the program, IU disclosed that she often received messages from alleged fans asking for financial help, citing reasons such as hospital bills, tuition fees, or personal debts. According to a reporter, IU once felt sympathy for a lengthy plea from an individual and decided to send money. However, the same person continued to demand more funds.
“I eventually found out I had been scammed. By the time I realized, the account I sent the money to had already been switched to a different one,” IU explained during the show.
This incident left IU hurt and led her to stop reading or responding to messages on her social media platforms.
